  It was meh. Food could have been better. The bbq was good but the chicken tenders were horrible. Def not a legit bbq place, but you could get a quick bite before some HEB shopping next door.

  Very friendly and helpful staff. Great place for a pretty good and reasonably-priced bbq meal before, or even without shopping. Even had a free and tasty banana churro pudding today with $15 purchase!

  The floor was dirty, and the booths were to big for my kids so we had to move the table back, and there was only one bathroom, and there was a line. We had sushi from heb and it was fine, and the service was good

  Saw ads for HEB True Texas BBQ on social media and decided to give it a shot. The online ordering process was pretty smooth, but I would probably recommend just going in and ordering there instead. There wasn’t a huge line (no line when I got there) like at some other BBQ places, and that way you can at least get the food hot and fresh. Maybe because I ordered online for pickup, the presentation wasn’t the best. The portion was okay for the price, and the food was flavorful, but it did feel a bit overly greasy. Since it’s inside HEB, it still has somewhat of a “grocery store deli section” feel. I’m not sure if that’s intentional, but if not, I think they could find a way to make the experience feel a little more premium. Overall, it wasn’t bad, and I’d be open to going back and giving it another try when I’m in the area next time.

  Chris is clearly a great manager we're from California and Nevada and he really helped us feel at home hearing in Texas picked us up with two soda cups because we were out of town and showed us all the fixings and let us know about the new coleslaw he is a clear winner your restaurant should be praised as such with money and love thank you Chris
