About

Steak House
The Award-winning residential community that overlooks Lake Travis and borders the banks of Lake Austin has a long-standing reputation for being "exemplary". Today, this term refers to the public schools nestled between the greenbelts. In the past, however, it once referred to rodeo stock. Tommy Steiner and his wife In its origin, Steiner Ranch was 5,200 acres of ranch land that was home base to the founders and livestock and of the Steiner rodeo company. Today's picturesque sidewalk-lined streets were once roamed by parade and bucking horses, bronco bulls and the herds of wild horses Tommy Steiner saved from elimination. On this land, foals and calves were raised. And so were little boys. Both grew up to shape the world of rodeo.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The crab cakes were hands down the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely incredible. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were some of the best we’ve enjoyed anywhere. Every bite was exceptional, and it’s clear the kitchen takes great pride in the quality of their food. What truly made the evening special was the service. Trinity went above and beyond to make our anniversary memorable, even offering us dessert to help celebrate. Her attention to detail, friendliness, and genuine hospitality made us feel like valued guests throughout the entire meal. The combination of amazing food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere made this a night to remember. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Trinity, and thank you to the entire Steiner Ranch Steakhouse team for an incredible anniversary dinner!

I was so excited by this place only to be majorly let down. I ordered the chicken fried elk that tasted very bland and dry. The rib eye and lobster Mac n cheese was also ordered at my table which was also bland. It's sad for a steakhouse, but the best part was the green beans and Mac n cheese (which honestly, the lobster tasted like crab.) We could also barely hear each other on the covered patio, and had dried lettuce on a fork and found a bug on our table. We also didn't get bread like we saw other guests get. This place charges their food like it's fine dining when it's the farthest thing from it. Like many other places in Austin, it charges more because it's on the water it seems. Very oasis or mozarts vibes (two of which I also don't recommend for similar reasons.) So overrated. Go to roadhouse, estancias, or longhorn.

This review is critical, and perhaps I am being a bit of a Karen, but it’s being made with respect to how expensive the food is for what you get. Given the current 4.6 star rating of this place, I felt compelled to leave a review. Some factors contributing to my rating: -The lobster Mac and cheese is made with imitation crab meat and it is obvious -I needed to salt my steak and I’ve actually never had to do that at a restaurant -The table we sat at had an uneven surface and that made cutting challenging -The creamed spinach was awful. It tasted like steamed spinach with no additional flavoring (not how creamed spinach should taste) -The live music was too loud and made it quite challenging to talk to my family Pros: -Spectacular view of Lake Travis -There was live music, and that is nice aside from it being too loud -The appetizers were very good actually (fried lobster, buffalo quail legs, stuffed avocado)

Had a reservation for 8:45 PM and called ahead to ask if we could arrive a little early. We were told that wouldn’t be a problem. However, when we arrived, we still had to wait. We were also informed of the $50 minimum purchase requirement, which wasn’t an issue at all. What was disappointing was that the manager seemed to single me out when explaining the policy, while not mentioning it to the customers ahead of us. I found that disrespectful and unprofessional. Once seated, the experience only got worse. We weren’t provided with a drink menu, nor did we receive one of the illuminated menus that every surrounding table appeared to have. On top of that, our waiter was rude, inattentive, slow, and lacked basic customer service. Overall, the service was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Between the poor treatment, lack of communication, and unprofessional staff, this was not an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this establishment based on my experience. Terrible service.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We recently visited Steiner Ranch Steakhouse to explore it as a potential venue for an upcoming event, and although we arrived for an unscheduled tour and experienced a bit of a wait, everything changed when Arturo stepped in. Arturo, the General Manager/Director, noticed us waiting and immediately took the time to personally assist us. From the moment he greeted us, he was incredibly kind, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in understanding our needs. He walked us through the venue, explained the different event options, highlighted the breathtaking views, and helped us envision how the space could accommodate our guests. His professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond made a lasting impression on us. Planning an event can be overwhelming, but Arturo made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. His expertise and hospitality were instrumental in helping us make an informed decision. Steiner Ranch Steakhouse is fortunate to have someone like Arturo representing their team. He is truly a standout professional and a fantastic asset to the restaurant. Thank you, Arturo, for your exceptional service and for making us feel so welcomed. We greatly appreciate everything you did for us!
