There was a complete lack of empathy, professionalism, communication, urgency, and basic customer service. I was chased outside to the gas pump over $0.73, even after I realized I had been charged incorrectly. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, I was told, “If you don’t want to pay the $0.73, you can leave.” I felt rushed out simply because I spoke up about my experience. The following day, I returned to pay for gas. I spent about five minutes at the pump trying to figure out why it wasn’t working, only to come back inside and hear an employee say, “I was just going to put it in.” I was already frustrated and left. As I walked out, the same manager followed behind me, continuing to confront me and bring up the $0.73 from the previous day, even telling me, “You can’t come back here.” I felt harassed and completely disrespected on so many levels. I have never experienced customer service this unprofessional. Regardless of the amount of money involved, customers deserve to be treated with respect and handled with professionalism. The manager’s behavior showed an extreme lack of communication, empathy, and care for the customer. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Kudos to the young lady I see and that has always helped me. She has made such a great impression on what real customer service looks like.
