Maie Day is a community chophouse located at South Congress Hotel. Helmed by three-time James Beard-nominated chef Michael Fojtasek and a MICHELIN Guide Recommended Restaurant for 2024 and 2025, the menu is everything you we about a steakhouse - prime cuts, delicious sides, perfectly-paired cocktails, and attentive, friendly service - with our own unique South Congress style: casual, lively, a great neighborhood patio, and always a party.
Nicer steakhouse type of restaurant in the South Congress Hotel. They have a private dining room for parties and we hold company events there. Works well as hotel for employees and events in their bars and restaurants.

If you plan to have a special night for your birthday I would suggest you look elsewhere. Not only did I not feel even kind of special besides a sloppy written note on the table, but the food was average. My boyfriend got a $70 NY Strip Steak and they couldn't be bothered to grill an onion on the side for him. My risotto was incredibly bland as well. You're better off going to a Longhorn Steakhouse, at least they can grill an onion for you! Not surprising they're closing in a few months.

Lovely food, great happy hour spot for a great deal! Service was great too. NOTE: Do NOT park in the attached garage. You are supposed to receive 2 hours validated parking in the garage if you visit Maie Day, but the barcode provided by staff didn’t work on exit and it automatically charged my card $40. I called and got a contact for refund for the hotel, and they never responded. Great restaurant but parking is a SCAM!

I came here without knowing they were a Michelin star restaurant. But as soon as I saw the red plaque, my expectations went way too high for what I was going to experience. We got the NY strip and it was overly salty and definitely not Michelin worthy. I have had several better steaks at non-michelin restaurants. My dad had the half grilled chicken and he said it wasn't moist enough. I'd say the worst part of the experience/dinner was that they took 15min to get us a couple of carajillos (i know they were 15min, cause that's how much it took me to go back to the car and see if they hadnt put a boot on it, since my parkmeter was expired). When I asked our very kind server, she said well they're backed up, no sorry, no complimentary at least 1 of the carajillos NOTHING..... again, not Michelin worthy. I'm not a food critic, but 15min for a couple of drinks is terrible on any restaurant, let alone a Michelin one. Also presentation wise, I definitely don't know how this presentation is worth a Michelin star, picture for judging. As background, this is my 4th Michelin restaurant in my life. 2 in USA and 2 in Europe, this one is definitely not worthy.

In all fairness to the establishment, a few of these following gripes are without a doubt random and one off, music volume was incredibly loud, and our seating position had us directly in a pretty harsh angle with the sun coming through right in our faces. When asked to close blinds the staff complied and that problem was solved. Other gripes would be the menu, food items never delivered, overpriced plates with little to no variety just a plate of chicken or a steak.
Perusing the menu we started to notice extremely high priced menu items. As well as sides that needed to be purchased additionally. Very much off set by the plate cost my party and I ordered roasted chicken. Snapper and steak frites. All that came out with the chicken was chicken no additional sides or anything, obviously that’s the point with this place but who wants to have to order their sides. Produce a meal cmon now. Snapper was great in a bed of rice and supposed to come with roasted veggies. Veggies never came out. Shockingly small portions. Left hungry. Waitress was polite and kind but incredibly difficult to understand with the ambiance and her quiet tone.
