Yummy ceviche and other delicious options! I wish I had gone in a larger group so I could try more food but everything my friend and I ate was scrumptious. I had the ceviche mixta, aji de gallina, and aguadito. Wasn't planning to have soup but I had a lunch special with soup and entree (salad is also an option).

Our first experience with Peruvian food this last weekend was extra special with Daniel making suggestions and helping us navigate the menu. He even told us what he’d recommend we try next time, and our Peruvian co-worker agreed wholeheartedly. We’ve already told several people about this lovely restaurant, and I’m bringing someone back there tomorrow!

I do not recommend this restaurant. The food is not fresh, and my experience was very disappointing. I ordered ají de gallina, and from the very beginning, the appearance already showed it was not fresh. The color was off, and when I tasted it, it confirmed it. The potatoes tasted slightly sour, the chicken had a strong, unpleasant flavor, and I didn’t even feel comfortable touching the egg because I was concerned it might not be safe. The sauce was watery and separated, which is not how this dish should be. The rice also had a very strong garlic taste, but worse, it was sour—clear signs that the food was not fresh and possibly spoiled. What bothered me the most was that I specifically asked the server which dishes were fresh. I was told everything was fresh. I even asked again to confirm between the ají de gallina and the arroz con pollo, and after checking, I was told the ají de gallina was fresh. That was not true, and it felt misleading. Yesty, I had a similar experience with the arroz con pollo at Las Brasas Peruanas (seems that both restaurants are the same their cart manu is exactly the same. I should pay attention to this and leave the place and not ordered), I asked if the arroz con pollo was fresh, I was told yes. When it arrived, it was lukewarm, unevenly heated, and did not look or taste like authentic Peruvian food. The color was dull instead of vibrant, and the texture was off. It tasted bad, and I could only eat two bites. When I mentioned it, I was told it was not freshly made, which was very concerning since I had asked beforehand. Both experiences made it clear that the food is not fresh. This is unacceptable and potentially unsafe, as it could make customers sick. I truly hope I do not get sick after eating there. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this restaurant (both restaurants Lima Criolla and Brasas Peruanas).
