  Worst HEB in Texas? Probably. If you have literally no other choice I guess this HEB is good enough. Selection is highly limited, and the product is dog water - just bought a bag of lemons that are clearly old and rotting after juicing a few. Not sure how that’s even on the shelf. Parking is a train wreck of near fender benders if you can even avoid plowing into the dip on the entrances.

  I know my review says 5 star and tbh it's probably only a 4 now because it's still being renovated, BUT they just finished the new facade, they are removing the drop ceiling and have already removed about half of the drop ceiling and dated tile in the produce section. The new polished concrete look and high ceilings are very appealing. The produce itself used to be sad looking and browned but all the greens are looking fresh these days. And they are introducing a healthy living section! I love the variety of items that appeal to the Latino population such as the dried peppers and various ethnic creams and cheeses. The Asian section still leaves a lot to be desired, please stock silken tofu! But I've been shopping at the HEB on 51st for years dispite this location being closer to my house because of the stark difference in overall shopping experience and while it's clear there is more work to be done, it's also clear they are doing it and I am legitimately excited to see heb giving this location a much deserved face-lift.

  They are remodeling here so when you walk in be prepared to ask for help to find what u are looking for. The remodel so far looks beautiful from the outside. They have samples now of mi tienda products which I tried the mi tienda carnitas among with the tortillas and salsa id give it a 5/5.

  ⭐⭐☆☆☆ The store itself was fine, glad HEB is finally doing something about this store but apparently I walked in during the highly inconvenient time of business hours. I understand stores need to restock and reset shelves, but watching employees attempt a full grocery floor reset while customers are actively shopping was an experience. Boxes, carts, products, blocked aisles, and people trying to squeeze through like they’re completing an obstacle course. And whoever’s idea it was to schedule a major floor reset while the store is open... I can only assume it was their first time running a grocery store. The employees were doing what they were told, so no shade to them. This review is strictly for the decision-making upstairs. Major resets should probably happen before opening, after closing, or during a controlled low-traffic period. Nothing says “great customer experience” quite like having to navigate around empty shelves, product in carts, and blocked (fire hazard) isles. I left my cart and went to Muellar HEB

  I give this Heb 10 stars the staff are always helpful have great attitudes and are great at what they do. even during the renovations you see them like busy bees working if one see something and can’t get it done they find someone that can the mangers are super sweet the cashiers are sweet and patient so many times I see people can’t pay or trying to count their change they even help and apologize to the next customer and will get a new line open to accommodate the pause produce and meat are always fresh and great the tamales are so delicious and the bakery is my favorite of all of Austin the staff need a raise because of the location folks call this the ghetto heb but looking at the staff you can’t tell they give true southern hospitality thanks
