Very spotty customer service. An employee pointed me to an express aisle even though I had too many items, saying "It's ok" The checker proceeded to scold me for getting in her line with too many items. When i reacted indignantly now I'm the bad guy. Not the first time I've had issues at this location.

I ordered a custom cake from the H-E-B Bakery Department for my husband’s and my anniversary, and what was supposed to be a special part of our celebration turned into a very frustrating experience. I ordered a cake in person not on the phone. I spoke with someone in the bakery, explained the design I wanted, and showed them a clear reference picture. I specifically asked for an elegant floral design on both the top and the sides of the cake. What I picked up looked nothing like what I had ordered. Apparently, a manager named Cat passed my order to the decorators with literally TWO vague words: half "plain," half "floral." Because of her complete lack of detail, the decorators covered the "plain" half in bizarre ruffles and swirls I never asked for. To make matters worse, the cake wasn’t even split down the middle, one side was noticeably bigger than the other! The writing was so crooked and slapped-together it looked like a child scribbled it. The flowers were placed only on the top, even though I had specifically asked for flowers on the top and the sides. The color choice was also completely different from what I had envisioned for an anniversary cake. The cake was decorated in baby pink and baby purple, which made it look more like a child’s birthday or gender reveal cake than an anniversary cake. When I brought up my concerns, I was offered an apology and a discount. But I didn’t need a discount. I needed the cake I had ordered. It was already late in the evening, there were no decorators available to make the necessary changes, and I needed the cake for our anniversary the next morning. At that point, I had no realistic option to order another custom cake somewhere else. I do want to give a special thank you to Marisa, who was working the evening shift. She was incredibly kind and genuinely tried to help me fix what she could. Unfortunately, there was only so much she could do at that point. She was honestly the only positive part of this experience. And unfortunately, the cake itself was also very disappointing. It was extremely dry, the cake layers were very thick, and there was barely any filling. The frosting was extremely sweet but. It was honestly one of the worst cakes I’ve ever had. What makes this even more frustrating is that I’ve had cakes from Walmart where the design was beautifully done, even though the taste wasn’t my favorite. I’ve also had cakes from Whole Foods that tasted delicious, even with a simple design. I understand that custom cakes can have small imperfections, but this cake was completely different from what I had requested. I still don’t understand how so many of the details discussed when placing the order could have been lost between the bakery staff and the decorators. For me, this was an important occasion, and having to pick up a cake that looked nothing like what I ordered was incredibly upsetting. Save yourself the stress, and wasted money. DO NOT order a custom cake here. If you absolutely have to, write down every millimeter of instructions yourself, because their management clearly won't. Zero stars for communication, design, service, and taste. Never again.

The only HEB I’ve ever been to the do not have the red cards for a quick grabbing goes. One of the best things about H-E-B is you never have to guess what they do and don’t have. The consistency is amazing. But if they’re going to start picking and choosing what they offer at each store may just have to start looking to shop somewhere else.

My experience at the customer service desk was extremely disappointing. The representative, Zeriah, was dismissive and unprofessional throughout the interaction. While I was speaking, she interrupted me, talked over me, and made me feel as though my questions were an inconvenience. I left feeling disrespected instead of helped. Customer service should be courteous, patient, and respectful, especially when customers are simply trying to pay a bill or ask a question. I hope H-E-B looks into these interactions and provides additional customer service training so future customers are treated with the professionalism and respect they deserve.

I did an order online and had it delivered. Well needless to say every item was up charged from 12 to 25 cents from the prices I ordered. Thank god I saved the list of the amounts of each item ordered. There shopper doesn’t know how to bag the items. Smushed bread, cold items turned up side down versus right side up since they were from their deli or fish dept. Crab Ceviche, Shrimp Ceviche, upside down in the bag, loose tomatoes where they could be crushed. You pay for a delivery fee, drivers tip and their jacked up prices. I’ll never use their shop in line again. I did it because I was unable to get out of the house for medical reasons. Just watch your receipt and check it against the price that’s marked on those items that bear the price. I’m gladly not going to shop HEB on Congress and Slaughter again. They need to teach the baggers how to bag and they need to stop up charging customers. I’ll take this up with Manager tomorrow. It’s rich get richer and the poorer get poorer. Chris
