  I am a regular customer here, and I have never complained about any issue before. However, something happened today that left me extremely disappointed with one of the cashiers. At around 6:15 p.m. today, I approached the checkout area with a fairly heavy cart full of groceries. I was looking around to see which checkout lane was available when an employee standing outside called for a cashier to come to register number 6, which was not being served at the time. Hearing this, I immediately pushed my cart toward register number 6 while I was still trying to find an available lane. As soon as I started placing my groceries on the checkout belt, the female cashier also walked into the lane and smiled at me. Suddenly, a man of Asian descent came from one of the checkout areas further up and, for reasons I do not understand, pushed his cart in the opposite direction toward the register where I was preparing to place my groceries. The cashier looked at him and smiled, allowing him to push his cart into the lane. I looked at her in surprise, clearly wondering why this man was behaving this way. The cashier then looked at me and asked, “Are you together?” I shook my head and shrugged, indicating that we were not together. The man continued to casually push his cart forward without any hesitation or concern, going ahead of me and placing his groceries on the checkout belt. I had no choice but to move my cart to the next checkout lane. I was genuinely very disappointed and upset by this situation, especially by the cashier’s response. If the man was in a hurry, he could have simply asked me if he could go ahead of me. I would have been perfectly willing to let him check out first. However, instead, he acted as though what he was doing was completely acceptable. I found it embarrassing to see a man behave in such a disrespectful manner toward a woman. What disappointed me even more was that the cashier simply allowed this inappropriate behavior to happen and proceeded to serve him instead of addressing the situation or encouraging him to behave appropriately and follow the proper line. I believe this employee needs additional training so that she can be more attentive, perceptive, and considerate in situations like this. Employees should not facilitate or cooperate with inappropriate behavior. They should be trained to recognize when a customer is cutting in line and handle the situation fairly and professionally.

  I had such a wonderful experience at the H-E-B on West Slaughter, and I especially want to recognize Jamie and Will for their outstanding customer service! They were incredibly friendly, helpful, accommodating, and efficient while helping me return a large collection of bottles my son has been saving all year long. They handled everything quickly and made the entire process so easy. What may have seemed like a simple bottle return was actually a pretty big deal to us. My son has been patiently saving them for an entire year and was SO excited to finally turn them in. Jamie and Will could not have been nicer or more helpful throughout the process. Great customer service deserves to be recognized, and these two absolutely deserve the recognition. Thank you, Jamie and Will, for going above and beyond and making our experience such a positive one. We truly appreciate you both!
