Tatianna in the Beer and Wine section went above and beyond, by greeting me with a kind smile and asking me if I had any questions. In fact, I was in search of a particular product, and she checked the warehouse stock on her computer and said that she did indeed have it in stock in the back of the store. She offered to promptly fetch the product for me and even informed me that it might be a bit of a tepid lager at this juncture in the delivery chain process. I was impressed that she returned in less than two minutes and personally hand-delivered the product to me. In the age of digital distraction and general human aloofness, Tatianna's customer service, positive attitude, and care, show that she is a rare asset to H-E-B and she is the type of person that makes a company more than just a stale, corporate business. Thank you ma'am.

Very Limited selection for non kosher shoppers and if you have more than 10 items you're going to be in a very long line. Likely to do with the time of day that I can go, like most people, after work. You would think they would've figured out to staff their registers accordingly. I leave here frustrated every time. I call it the "1 of 2" because I always have to go to a second store to get everything on my very small but typical grocery list. The staff here are helpful though. And the store is clean.

I go to this HEB for their bakery in the mornings. Their donuts are delightful... at a component level. What holds them back from 5 stars is that their bakes and add ons can be inconsistent and they need a better SoP for their bakers to achieve it. I'll give two examples that I see almost every time: Too much chocolate glaze ruins a donut. You lose the flavor of the pastry. 3 out of 5 times most of the chocolate glazed donuts are far over glazed with a thick, egregious layer of chocolate. Their filled donuts? You do NOT want a mountain of icing sugar and a bake that cannot contain the filling. Generally when you look on any day, every filled donut is losing their filling all over the display and it seems like we decided to try and hide the disaster with an inch of icing sugar on top of the donut. The donuts here are so close to being amazing. The components are there. Good pastry. Good toppings. Good filings. But the actual execution and assembly fails to fulfill the expectations I have of the best store in Texas.
