However, there is never anyone in the meat department; you have to wait a while to get served. At the deli, honestly, there is almost always just one person helping customers. There are usually two or three others around, but they are busy with other tasks and won't stop what they're doing to help you. The produce staff are super friendly as well, and the cashiers are all very friendly too.
- JTJoe TeumerAug 29, 20261.0Consistently poor checkout experience at this location. It’s rare to find more than 2 registers open, even during busy hours, which means long backups every time. Meanwhile, several employees just stand around the self-checkout area watching customers scan and bag their own groceries — they don’t scan, they don’t bag, they don’t move the line along, they just observe. This is a management problem, not a staffing shortage, because HEB clearly knows how to do this right. The Brodie Lane location runs circles around this one — they keep lanes staffed appropriately and even have a dedicated express lane with an actual checker working it. If that store can figure it out, so can this one. Come on HEB, fix the checkout staffing at this location. Customers shouldn’t have to do the employees’ job for them while getting stared at.
