Well, as a restaurant guy for over 20 year's (working) this was a 1st. We, my cousin, his 10yo son and myself go on a Saturday to watch the Longhorns and let his son play games. He arrived early and got a booth i joined shortly after and the 1st thing the server asked was, "did you want anything to drink?" Ummmm, NO I'll just sit here thirsty. Just a weird 1st question in my opinion or a weird way to ask, what can I bring you to drink. Small potatoes in the big picture. So my cousins son is a bit of a picky eater, so WE WERE SPECIFIC in the order, the sliders, with ONLY: Bun, meat and pickles please and a side of mustard. Okay, order placed. 20 minutes later the sliders come out with cheese which his son won't touch(weird but truth). We told the server, hey sorry but we asked for bun, meat, pickles only. Oh, my bad, I'll re-order em for you. Cool, and LEFT the wrong order on the table and walked away. 30 minutes after that the server came back to the table and said, hey "they" messed up again and put cheese on them, so I had them do it again. So, now 50 minutes later, NO SLIDERS still and still left the wrong order on the table. So my cousin ate ONE of the cold ones because he was starving. The correct order came out 25 minutes later so over an hour just for 3 sliders. At the end of it all, he left the original order on the bill and we let him know they were still on the bill, he said well you ate one so yeah you have to pay for them. We both were a little stunned, and were like ummm, really thats kinda not right. So he left and got a floor manager and she said, "I hear you don't want to pay for the sliders after you ate one?" My cousin visibly upset and about to EXPLODE so I stepped in and calmy explained the situation. We ordered sliders No cheese and got two wrong orders, waited over an hour for the correct order and in that time he ate ONE of three. The server never removed the incorrect ones and never mentioned if you eat one I'll have to charge you for both orders. She said, "well you did eat one" and I responded, well yeah after an HOUR of not eating he ate one, is that your policy. Leave it on the table to see if the guest will pick at it so you can not loose the food cost YOUR kitchen messed up twice? She rolled her eyes and walked away, brought back a "corrected" bill, but now my food was on his ticket and I had just paid my tab before this whole debacle, so we had to find the manager huddled up with the server and probably the AGM/GM talking shit. So we had them ACTUALLY correct the bill paid and left. Just a bad finish to a mediocre experience. I believe in everyone has bad day's, but I dont feel we were in the wrong questioning this practice, I've never been asked to pay for a wrong order before if left on the table and usually the server or floor manager comes by to to a table touch and show the guest it's being handled. No table visit until the very end, even after TWO wrong orders and over an hour waiting for the correct one. Aside from that, its D&B not Ruth's Chris, so I take it with a grain of salt, but still a little in shock they attempted to charge for the 1st incorrect order that sat on the table for over an hour.
