This place used to be my to go place to pick up grab and go meals when I was not sure what to cook. It had been a few years since I stopped in here. I pull into the parking lot and it's a zoo. As I entered through the restaurant side, I make my way over to the prepared food case. I was impressed they had a bunch of options if I wanted to make my own meal. I had been looking for the two can dine prepared meals. I did ask the young girl working the counter who seemed a bit confused and then told me to "go ask the guy stocking the shelves". I walk over and the guy disappeared. I did find the two can dine bags. They only had two options, glazed meatloaf and crab cakes. I am very impressed with all the options available with meat, seafood and the bakery. If I wanted a hot meal, I can grab food at the their restaurant. I did make my way around the isles and was glad to see there was still a "short cut" to the check out lanes. Heb for the love of God, you need to enforce you policy of "no pets" in the store. There are signs on both entrance doors that say "Service Dogs only". In fact, there is a whole Reddit channel where folks post pictures of entitled shoppers bringing their dogs in the store and putting them in baskets. Now before someone chimes in and says "well this is Austin", HEB has a policy prohibiting "non Service animals" in their store. Secondly, how many health code violations are being broken by turning a blind eye? Someone could chime in and say, "Well you do not know it was not a "Service Dog". When the dog is ridding in a basket on a blanket and is barking their heads off like this one was, you can tell that it was not a "Service Dog". The store management needs to start asking "What job does that dog provide you?" If they reply, "Emotional Support", they can politely say "Emotional Support Animals" are not service animals according to the ADA and therefore not welcome in the store. The problem is Management is too afraid to bring it up because they do not want to be sued. You can not be sued by asking that one simple question that qualifies what the job of the animal is. Business DO have the right to refuse service to anyone. The barking dog made my shopping trip very distracting as I tried to make my way through the store. The check out lanes were moving, but had a moderate amount of traffic. The store was well stocked, but thought customer service could be a bit better. The employees I interacted with were not "Texas Friendly". Come on HEB, enforce your policies so everyone can have a pleasant shopping trip. You enforced mask mandates during COVID, you can certainly enforce policies that YOU have written with regards to animals in your store.

The cashier looked like he was over the job no greeting no smile just is this it! I was taken aback by this customer service and the bagger the girl with the color hair n piercings had the same attitude just none existent customer service! After she put the bags n the cart that was it! Joseph R and his bagger really need some customer service training

Central Market is simply one of the best grocery stores I have ever been to. The selection of fresh produce, local products and international goods is truly impressive. Everything looked incredibly fresh and well presented. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable, and the overall shopping experience felt more like exploring a food market than doing regular grocery shopping. Whether you are looking for everyday essentials or something special, this place has it all. A must visit for anyone who loves quality food.

April 26, 2026. Big change. Breakfast eggs, french toast and bacon were cold with absolutely no hint of heat. I asked for the best grade of black forest ham and question it being the best as it did not have the texture and taste of previous selections. The harvarty cheese was ok but wraped in such a way as to make separation of slices difficult. I was disapoint with the service and the products. This is not par for Central Market? I will try again soon and modify this review as needed.
