I decided to try this restaurant since it’s connected to my hotel, The Origin, in Austin. My server/bartender was Raven and he was amazing. He had such a fun and pleasant personality!! He helped me pick the perfect menu items and made sure that everything was to my liking. I will definitely be back to see Raven when I return. Oh yeah, the food was fresh and delicious! And look at those fries!! ❤️

I had two great breakfasts here at Lacy during my stay at the Origin. Chef Josh makes excellent eggs, and Jim whipped up a delicious Lavender honey Latte, even remembering my order the second day I came by. The whole crew from Jim to Jenny is excellent and very personable, making my stay in Austin feel very homey.

Awesome burger! I went for happy hour and got the American burger and fries and it was great. Juicy burger and good amount of fries. The prices are very reasonable. I also got the Brussels with the sweet chilli sauce and that was banging too. Carmel was my server and he was fantastic! They also have a beautiful outdoor eating and chilling area between the restaurant and the hotel. Really nice. 10/10 would recommend!

This is our first time to the mueller area and staying at the Origin. And we love the Blue Lacy. The food is amazing, the coffee is is very very good (best coffee in the area) and the service we received from Raven and Joy was superb. We will definitely be eating here often during our stay and future visits to Mueller to visit our daughter.

The best way I can describe the food at Blue Lacy is that nothing tasted like anyone cared. One of the great pleasures of American life is breakfast out. Eggs, toast, coffee, fruit. These are not difficult things. Humanity has been preparing them successfully for a very long time. Which makes Blue Lacy something of a marvel. The fruit here was one of the strangest things I’ve ever been served. It somehow tasted like nothing, but bad. The strawberries were watery and tired. The blueberries were sour. Every bite had the peculiar quality of Apeel-coated Klaus Schwab-approved Bill Gates fruit that had been focus-grouped, ESG-maxxed and climate-transitioned within an inch of its life before spending 6 months in cold storage. I have eaten fruit in hospital cafeterias, airport lounges, and elementary school lunchrooms. This was worse. The breakfast itself fared no better. The eggs were pale, under-seasoned, and tasted cheap. The toast appeared to be basic H-E-B sourdough. The home fries were somehow both over-salted and flavorless, with an odd aftertaste that made me stop eating them after a few bites. The biggest issue may actually be the water. It appeared to be completely unfiltered and had such a strong tap-water taste that I couldn’t even stomach more than a single sip of my tea. Imagine steeping a tea bag in the rinse cycle of a dishwasher and you begin to approach the experience. A basic inline filter costs about $200, and even Austin’s taco trucks and gas stations have managed to make that investment. One leaves with the distinct impression that nobody responsible for this menu is regularly tasting it. I hope management takes a serious look at ingredient sourcing, produce storage, water filtration, quality control, and perhaps building stronger relationships with local vendors, because something (most likely an overreliance on Sysco combined with a management team that does not appear to include anyone who cares deeply about food) is causing flavors across the menu to arrive washed out, lifeless, and oddly unpleasant.
