Hostess and server were amazing, first and foremost. Drink ordered wasn't particularly tasty, but packed a punch, so worth it in a way. However, we spent over 100 dollars for two people and I have to say the food was subpar. Pot pie was delicious, but unfortunately the steak was particularly tough to devour, with a lot of unedible bits. I would probably consider a higher rating if it wasn't for the fact the meals were so expensive for low/mid quality. Do with this information what you will. Staff go above and beyond, but sadly it just isn't worth the cost.

Ordered to go here yesterday but it wasn’t good at all. I tried to order/pay online but the website wouldn’t work or show all options available. When I called, I spoke with Ramona who was helpful and kind over the phone. The food was brought out quickly after arrival in the pick up lane. When I got home (I live across the street), the steak was over done. I asked for medium and this was medium well plus, hard to cut, and very chewy. The mashed potatoes were cold. I couldn’t even eat half of it before throwing it away. Lemon pepper tots were good though. I normally go to the Plano location but since moving it’s too far. I’ve dined in twice with my boyfriend once at the bar and once on the patio with my dog. Patio service was exceptional. The bartender (can’t remember her name) was semi rude and seemed more interested in cleaning the bar/doing side work than attending to guests. I chalked it up to it being around 9:30 pm and closing soon. I’ll try to continue to give this location another try but likely won’t be back for a little while. Hoping the situations are a fluke.

Ella, our server, was absolutely top tier. From the moment we sat down, she was attentive, friendly, and extremely quick with both our drinks and food. I’m a very picky eater, but she took the time to point out some of her personal favorites and helped me customize my meal exactly how I wanted it. She made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. What really stood out to me was how observant and caring she was. She noticed that my son was getting cold and immediately made sure the heaters were turned on so he could stay warm without us even having to ask. That level of attention and customer service truly made our visit special. Ella went above and beyond, and we will definitely be coming back because of the amazing service she provided.

We moved to Allen with a 22-month-old kid. We’d been renting before, so it took some time to set up and get appliances to cook and store food at home. For the first week we had no choice but to eat out. We found this place, and it was hands down the best, coziest, friendliest, tastiest place in all of Texas, filled with the warmest people I have seen in my life. Ella served us for a couple of nights and she was the kindest and most supportive person imaginable, which meant a lot (although the whole staff is fantastic). She would tolerate our hyperactive toddler, accommodate our off-menu orders, and really make us feel like we had that little extra support we needed in the midst of all the chaos. Let’s not forget the food. Genuinely excellent burger — and I know my burgers (I recommend the All American with a side of Cajun Fries and a Liquid Blanket beer). The Mediterranean bowl was my wife’s favorite. More than anything, this place felt like people enjoy working there, like they enjoy what they do. That shows. Thanks to everyone at the Lazy Dog Allen!

On my continuing quest to eat at "new to me" restaurants, today I went to The Lazy Dog in Allen. It's just over a mile from me so, very close. I looked at the menu prior to heading over and there were several things I was considering. It was Sunday and about 4:45 pm when I got to the restaurant. The parking lot has ample parking as there are several different restaurants nearby that share the parking area. I had no problem finding a place to park nearby although it did seem fairly busy. There's a good sized outdoor seating area but there was nobody sitting outside. It was pretty warm out though. I sat at one of the only open seats left at the bar. It took a little bit before someone acknowledged me. I asked for a Heineken and a menu. I ended up ordering the half pound cheeseburger with fries. When asked if I wanted my burger more medium or medium well, I said medium. The food took a little bit of time, which is perfectly fine. It did look exactly like the photo on the menu and it was hot and the toppings were crispy and fresh. However, both the burger and the fries were on the overcooked side and lacked any seasoning/salt or flavor. The burger even had a pick in it that said "medium well" (not what I ordered). Overall, the service, the food and the whole experience was just average. I could have gotten a much better meal and service for less money a couple of doors down at Portillo's. It's very disappointing because it's a clean, spacious, cool looking place with an extensive menu and a nice little bar. But, I definitely won't be back.
