I’ve visited Desi Chichas multiple times, and the food is consistently authentic and delicious. The biryani is top-notch, pricing is reasonable, and the service is good.
However, I’m giving 3 stars because of one recurring issue: serving spoons are not provided with biryanis and curry’s a
unless it’s a family pack. It’s very inconvenient to serve biryani with small eating spoons. A simple serving spoon would significantly improve the dining experience.
Also, the restrooms could be cleaned more frequently, as they are often messy.
The food keeps me coming back, but these improvements would make a big difference.

Horrible, horrible service. I ordered take out. They asked for my phone number to text me when the order is ready. I stayed in the restaurant to wait but gave them my phone number anyways.
I waited over 30 minutes for the food before deciding to check on its status because I don't want to rush people if they're genuinely busy. Apparently, my food was just sitting there for 15 minutes already. No text, no one came up to me even though I was just sitting there waiting. When I asked why I didn't receive a text, the cashier just shrugged.
I ordered the Chicken Dum Biryani, and it was absolutely delicious. The biryani was served hot and fresh, with perfectly cooked rice and flavorful spices. The chicken pieces were tender, juicy, and well-marinated, making every bite enjoyable.
The onions and lemon served on the side complemented the dish perfectly and added to the overall experience. It's clear that attention was paid to both taste and presentation.
Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. I would highly recommend trying the Chicken Dum Biryani, and I will definitely be coming back again.
I should not have given this place even one star. This place is owned by Hello India.
We ordered crispy corn and curry leaf chicken as appetizers. The chicken was not prepared as expected -it was more like a curry than a dry appetizer. The staff was very unprofessional; while taking our order, they were busy discussing how much money they had made so far.
We also ordered the jungle kebab, and after waiting about 30 minutes, it was served undercooked and clearly not fresh. When we complained, the staff refunded us in cash.
Chicken dum biryani was Not fresh.
Another major concern was the attitude of one of the servers. She was wearing what looked like night pants and was very rude, with no courtesy or professionalism at all.
Overall "BAD. Avoid this place".

I found Desi Chicas completely by accident while traveling through Allen. I was staying at the hotel right behind the restaurant for one night, and late at night I got hungry. There wasn't much open nearby, and Desi Chicas had already closed. I figured I was out of luck.
To my surprise, the owner was incredibly kind and went out of his way to prepare food for me even though they were already closed. He could have easily turned me away, but instead he made sure I didn't leave hungry. That level of hospitality is something you rarely see anymore, and it left a lasting impression on me.
As for the food, it was outstanding. This wasn't the typical "South Indian" food that many people are used to from Americanized restaurants. The flavors were authentic, bold, and clearly made with care. What makes Desi Chicas unique is the Mexican influence blended into authentic South Indian cuisine. It sounds unusual at first, but the combination works amazingly well and takes the food to another level.
I've seen some reviews criticizing the taste or saying the food is different from what they expected. In my opinion, that's because many people have only experienced heavily modified or commercialized versions of South Indian food. Authentic South Indian cuisine has its own distinct flavors and character, and Desi Chicas stays true to that while adding a creative Mexican twist.
For a restaurant I discovered by chance during a late-night stop, this turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. Great food, authentic flavors, and an owner who genuinely cares about people. If you're in Allen and want something different from the usual chain restaurants, Desi Chicas is absolutely worth a visit.
