Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
My husband and I have gone thru the drive through 3 times now. If you have an hour lunch break you will spend 45 minutes of it in the drive thru line for cold fries and dry burgers. We will be driving to the location on the south side of Abilene as it will be quicker and the food will be better.

The food is aways good. We ordered and tha lady taking our order ask our name and we told her about 3 times. We pulled up but had to use the outside lane at pick up windows due to us pulling a car in tow. The lady ignores us and gives our order to someone else. After about 4 cars that were behind us go thru i had to go up to one of the employees and ask about our food. They had to remake it.

Ordered a breakfast combo and pancakes. Got to window and the person at the window was not in good mood. Asked for cream and sugar for coffee and she ignored me. Told me to pull forward and when she delivered I asked again for sugar and cream and she got worst went inside graved a fistful and basically almost thru it to me. Got to the hotel and pancakes with no syrup. Who eats pancakes with no syrup. ??????

Ate there today. Was late lunch (2:30). Not busy (2 sitting & 2 waiting. Nobody at the counter. Waited for a while. Someone finally took order. Food came. Hamburger was cold & so were the fries. Like they were both prepared earlier & left out. Usually like Whataburger but I was Very Disappointed today. 🤨

I average eating at this Whataburger once a month. The past few months I noticed a decline. Mostly in the time it takes to get my food and restaurant cleanliness.
Today, at noon was a new level so hence my review.
7 of 15 tables were taken. 3 of 4 tables were still waiting on their food. The remaining 8 tables had nit been clean. Both trash cans had full trash bags sitting next to them.
The restroom trash was over flowing with trash on the floor.
I was surprised my food (patty melt & large fries) was delivered to my table in 14 minutes. Fries were old and cold. Patty melt dry and askes for extra creamy pepper sauce on it.
Two ladies came in behind me, both with dogs on leashes. They were not service dogs. They sat next to me so I had to contend with dogs staring at ne while I ate.
I ended up not finishing my meal and left.
Im a Texan and love Whataburger. I understand the struggles of not only managing a restaurant but staffing a business.
I hope this newer location can turn it around.
