I have always considered The Rush a great Sioux Falls spot. It is a fun place to grab a drink, and if you like throwing darts, it is easily one of the best dart bars in town. Normally, I have also had excellent food here. Unfortunately, this visit was a completely different experience. We ordered the pretzel bites, and calling them “salted” would be an understatement. I am pretty sure my blood pressure went up just looking at them. There was so much salt that I actually asked our server if they normally came that way. His response was that this is how the kitchen manager likes them. Well... I am glad the kitchen manager likes them, but the rest of us would also like to taste the pretzel. Apparently, I was not alone. Our server mentioned that another customer had also commented that the pretzel bites were too salty. To his credit, he took 50% off the pretzel bites because of it. I appreciated that, and the server handled the situation well. The cheese sauce did not help much either. It was so thin that getting it to actually stick to a pretzel bite became its own little bar game. Maybe they can put that next to the dart boards. Then came the hot hamburger. Unfortunately, the gravy was also extremely salty. At that point, there was definitely a theme developing. I had not been to The Rush for several months, so this was honestly a shock. I have had very good food here in the past, which is why I know they can do much better. The Rush is still a great place to visit, have a drink, hang out with friends, and throw some darts. I will absolutely give them another chance because of my previous experiences. And again, our server deserves credit for recognizing the issue and making an adjustment to the bill. But seriously, kitchen manager... does anyone else get to use the salt shaker, or have you claimed it as your own? Three stars for this visit. Hopefully next time the food I remember comes back—and somebody hides the salt shaker.

This place was only worth going to when Mariah is the KJ. The service, the food the atmosphere alone of this run down dirty joint isn't enough. Needs a remodel and new management.

Came here for the first time for lunch. If you're tired of all the overpriced options in town, you'll find this place to be a refreshing change. Simple, good food at reasonable prices. Recommend.
