  Was extremely disappointed with our experience here. Our server mentioned various specials of the evening, and I decided to order one of the specials, which was the pistachio crusted rack of lamb, and expected the rack to be as advertised. Unfortunately not so. The server brought me the lamb with no pistachio crust. When I asked if this is correct, she realized that there was no pistachio and offered to bring me a bowl of pistachios. Not the answer I was expecting. She took it back to the kitchen and came back 2 minutes later with my dish and raw pistachios sprinkled all over my lamb. Needless to say I was not happy with that. The manager came over to apologize and was also surprised that it was not grilled with the pistachios, which is what gives it that crust. I didn’t eat the dish and he offered to change it to something else which I chose not to. I sent it back and he did not charge me for my dish. I was excited to dine at this restaurant based on previous reviews, but it definitely did not deliver and left me extremely disappointed. My wife ordered another special, the grouper, and found it just okay. This review is more to caution others to ask how the dishes are prepared so to not be surprised as I was. I would have loved to give it a higher rating but frankly the lamb experience was just terrible.

  Great food highly recommend a little to crowded for me but they made room at the bar 🍸 service fast and friendly. Maybe they paided a little to much to customer that they know overall Great place to go can't wait to come back. I'm always looking for good verity of food 😋 and friendly service 😋 thank you again

  Loved eating here. The restaurant in the Wharf is amazing and one of a kid. Had a great meal, had great service and above all we would recommend this place while in Newport. From the moment we sat down the waitress was very attentive and extremely friendly. They were knowledgeable of allergies and were extremely accommodating across the board. Thank you to the kitchen staff for the amazing food and thank you to our waitress for making the evening so special

  I was extremely disappointed with my experience at 22 Bowen’s. I had planned a special proposal for my fiancée and made reservations ahead of time. I specifically called and asked if the restaurant could accommodate a special dessert plate with “Will You Marry Me” written on it, and the staff member assured me it would not be a problem. Unfortunately, when the moment came, nothing was done. I went to the front afterward to ask why the request was never fulfilled, and the manager simply told me, “We don’t do that.” It was upsetting and embarrassing, especially after being promised otherwise. A proposal is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and the lack of communication completely ruined what I had planned. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. My fish and chips were decent, but the fries were overly salty. My fiancée’s Caesar salad was very dry, and we had to ask for additional dressing. The anchovies were also slimy, which completely turned her off from the dish. Overall, the experience was disappointing from both a service and dining perspective. Sadly, I would give this restaurant 1 star.

  Stopped here for lunch before leaving Newport. Not only was the view of the harbor amazing, the server Jim was as well. He was very attentive and paid attention to detail. The drinks he recommended were refreshing. Food was great with a menu full of a variety to choose from. Many restaurants have the water view and lack in other areas, but 22 Bowen's has it all!
