The outdoor bar is a great spot when the weather cooperates, and the experience can be excellent depending on who’s behind the bar. My only knock is during peak season, the service can sometimes feel a little too comfortable — almost like they know the seat will be filled again five minutes after you leave, so there’s not always much urgency to make you want to stay. Still a Newport staple for me. Just wish the hospitality was as consistent as the French onion soup.

The steaks were bland with lack of sear/crust. The harvest vegetables menu description was misleading and inaccurate as we received bell peppers covered in cheese and sauce. Bone marrow was not worth the enhancement. Strangely it was topped with pickled onions, which is a first? This place felt more like a tourist trap. I would not recommend this place. I get that it's a high scale restaurant in the area, but I think there's better (not sure if better in Newport, but in any major city, I've had much better steakhouses).

The crab cakes were so soft and flavorful, the absolute best I’ve ever had. The waygu dumplings were very good and crispy. For our dinner we split the delmonico steak and truffle mac and cheese. Both were phenomenal and this will be a must on our food list if we ever come back to Rhode Island!

To say that I have never been treated so poorly in my life is a complete understatement. When we arrived, the staff seemed kind. Because we had a 30 minute uber there, two of the ladies in our group immediately asked to use the restroom prior to us being seating. We were then seated as a group. We immediately ordered (the most expensive) appetizers. When one of the ladies tried to order a martini, our waiter Fabio told us we had to wait until we ordered our main course. We thought this was strange but chose to proceed with our dinner. When it was time to order entrees, a different person tried to order an alcoholic beverage, and we were then told they were not serving alcohol. When we asked what the reason was for that, we were told, “We are serving alcohol just not to your table”. When we asked why and what happened, we got no clear explanation. After this a bus boy came and took all of the glasses from our table. A few of the ladies still proceeded to order food because we had been waiting all day to eat here with a plan to order most of what was on the menu and all share. We then requested the check and left. Before leaving I requested a manager to try to better understand what happened, and they said there was a note on our reservation not to serve us (again with no real explanation of why this was initiated, or what behavior caused it). The whole experience was absolutely atrocious, I would never recommend going here.
