It all started with a promise and from there it was built on a vision. Gaetano Gravino was a hairstylist who had found part time work at a doughboy shack in Oakland Beach. This part time work turned into an opportunity that spoke to his entrepreneurial spirit – the same spirit that lives on in his wife and children: Sally, MaryAnn, David, and Guy. When the chance came to lease the establishment, Gaetano and his wife Sally took it. And in 1989, Iggy’s Doughboy and Chowder House was born – coined after a nickname given to him by his son, David. The featured dish at the time was the red chowder – the recipe a family secret created by Sally herself.

- PNPrakash Nair1 day ago1.0If I could rate this lower I would. This was the most disgusting food I have eaten in a long time. This is just lazy cooking. Everything was deep fried with 0 flavor. I had clam cakes, lobster roll and the doughboys. Really wish I could get my money back but apparently the "manager was not there" which is a bit sus and I hate creating a scene. I just don't understand how this is rated so high–have people been eating prison food before coming here?

I get my food and when I asked for ketchup there is no ketchup. My friend asked for ketchup and he got mustard. And my other friend asked for Mountain Dew and he got lemonade. Come on out in some effort.

We tried the white chowder, lobster bisque, and clam cakes, and no one in our family was impressed with any of it. We also waited about 30 minutes for our order, and the cheap plastic spoons actually cut our lips. We’ll be looking elsewhere next time we’re in town.

So tiny no bigger than a nail head on these clams which gave not much taste of decent wholebellie I don't know where they purchased these from they were not ispwich whole bellies which are size of quarter and full of goodness. The guy at the window mention they were small when I ask him. But believe me I wouldn't even call these Wholebellies. Not worth the price I paid for. I stopped because I was craving some.
