  I used their grocery pick up on vacation, and was disappointed to discover I was missing 4 items. However, their refund process was very quick and easy, and there wasn't any hassle getting a refund for those items.

  I would like to write great things about this location besides the convenience for me . Unfortunately lately customer service has been poor ; maybe due to burnout of staff . Managers aren't any nicer , they debate with customers over old tags or have poor attitude about reimbursement. **** staff may be conditioned to watch the company's dollar but the customer is conditioned to watch their dollar especially in this economy. Again improvement is needed on customer service and price tags so the cashier or manager aren't unprofessional with customers. They dislike you asking if coupons went in or sale prices are ringing correctly.

  I have been faithfully shopping at Shaw’s in Barrington since I relocated here in 2019. Shortly after COVID, I discovered their DriveUp & Go and home delivery services. After beginning my cancer battle in 2022, curbside pickup and delivery became necessities for me, and this store has never disappointed. In all the years I have shopped here, I honestly cannot recall encountering a single rude or unhelpful employee. I rarely shared what I was going through personally with my health, so I know the kindness, patience, and professionalism I received were simply a reflection of the people who work here. Even the younger high school and college-aged employees are consistently sweet, polite, and eager to help, which is rare these days. One quality that has always stood out—and continues to impress me—about this location is the staff’s commitment to helping customers. If an employee is unsure of the answer to a question, they never leave you hanging with a “I don’t know” or provide information they are not certain is accurate. Instead, they make an effort to find the correct answer or connect you with someone who can help. During my visits here, I have also witnessed employees interact with several difficult or disrespectful customers, and I have always been impressed by how professionally, patiently, and politely they handled those situations. If a customer is dissatisfied for any reason, the staff genuinely does its best to listen, address the concern, and find a solution so the customer leaves feeling heard and satisfied. Of course, it is impossible to please everyone, regardless of how much effort is made, but the employees at this location consistently remain courteous and professional—even in challenging situations. Before becoming ill, I worked as a RN/Nursing Director for almost 20 years, so I recognize and genuinely respect that level of accountability, professionalism, and customer care. Kudos to the management and the entire staff! People often talk about shopping elsewhere for lower prices, especially now that the cost of food is so high. However, I always do extremely well at Shaw’s by combining the weekly sales with U offers. Once I show people some of my grocery orders and what I paid, they can hardly believe it. Many assume I simply got lucky, that you have to be an expert to save that much, or that it takes a lot of time to sort through sales and coupons—but that is not the case at all. It is nothing like the old days of clipping and organizing paper coupons. The Shaw’s for U program is quick, simple, and easy to use, whether you are shopping for one person or feeding a large family. Between the overall value, the quality of the food—especially the fresh produce, quality meats, and seafood department—and the consistently wonderful employees, I have no reason to shop anywhere else. I have spoken with the store manager, Mike, on several different occasions over the years, and every interaction has been excellent. Yesterday (07/27 12:30P) I called with a question regarding my DriveUp & Go order. The female employee (I misplaced her name) who initially answered was professional, courteous, and helpful, and she directed me to the main store to speak with Mike. He took the time to listen, made sure he fully understood my question, and went above and beyond to assist me. I could not have been happier with the service I received. I even received a callback following up. I haven't purchased seafood from any other store in probably 5 years or more. Every July and September, my family gathers for a seafood birthday tradition, and I usually purchase 5–15 lobsters plus 10+ lbs of steamers. Mike also told me that the seafood department can cook lobsters at no additional charge. All you have to do is call and schedule a pickup. That is an incredibly helpful service, especially for someone like me. Mike and the entire Barrington team deserve recognition for creating an immaculate, well-organized store where customers are treated with kindness, respect, and genuine care. Thank you for going above and beyond. 👏🏆

  Sales are good when they have them wouldn’t come here for anything without the sales very expensive especially because of the area more then stop and shop even for many items I’ve seen. It is frustrating I’ve checked this store multiple times through the same week for specific items to see if they would restock and very often I have to wait weeks to get what I need. Staff are ok not extremely friendly but not rude. Store is busy often but lines move quick convenient since it’s close to home
