First time getting food there. Got two chicken gyros. Absolutely delicious. An order of fries- perfectly crispy. And an order of baklava. Tried the white, green, and red sauce. I will definitely eat here again.
A favorite place lately. Food is so fresh and consistently prepared to perfection. Restaurant is very clean and organized, staff is kind & courteous. Portions are Berks County sized....generous! So glad this restaurant is here and food come out FAST!
We needed a quick late dinner and found this spot on google maps. We asked them what their quickest menu items were and they kindly responded the platters and gyros. The food was also very affordable. We ordered a chicken platter to share. Our food came to our table quickly and they even brought us an extra plate since we were sharing. I forgot to take a picture of my food since I was starving but I snapped a quick picture of my portion on my side plate. The food was amazing. The chicken and rice had great flavor. I loved their white sauce and hot sauce. The side salad was super fresh and crunchy. It was the perfect side to the chicken and rice. They also give you two little slices of pita bread on the side. It was one of the best halal chicken platters I have ever had. I tend to be picky with those and some places don't get it quite right but this place does. Besides the food, the staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant was also very clean including the women's restroom. I'm sad this place is so far away from me since I'm from Philadelphia but if I'm ever back in the area I will be sure to come here again!!!
Zaytoon Kabob Grill is proof that not all heroes wear capes…some wear aprons and hand you a feast that makes you wonder why you ever settled for fast food.
Start with the mantu, those delicate Afghan dumplings that somehow manage to be comforting, savory, and impossible to stop eating. Then move on to the perfectly grilled kabobs, juicy chicken, flavorful lamb, tender beef, fluffy rice, fresh pita, and that legendary white sauce that deserves its own fan club.
And don’t even think about skipping dessert. The pink chai is rich, fragrant, and unlike anything you’ll find at your average coffee shop. Pair it with one of their traditional Afghan desserts, and suddenly “I’ll just have a quick lunch” turns into a full-blown culinary vacation.
Five stars. Come for the kabobs, stay for the mantu, finish with the pink chai, and accept that your standards for Mediterranean and Afghan food have officially been raised 🫶🏼👌🏼😋
