Overall, I found the experience disappointing for the price. The portions were much smaller than expected, especially considering the cost. Some appetizers were priced almost the same as the entrées but came in very small quantities.
The service could also be improved. Our appetizers arrived one at a time instead of together, making it difficult to enjoy them as a group. To make matters worse, our waiter answered a phone call while taking our order, which felt unprofessional and interrupted the ordering process.
The dining area also felt cramped, with tables placed very close together. It made the experience feel crowded and offered very little privacy for conversations.
The Chicken Kadhai had very little chicken—I had to search through the gravy to find the pieces, which was disappointing.
One thing that surprised me was that rice was not included with the entrée. While I understand that not every Indian restaurant includes rice, many do, so it would have been helpful if this had been made clear.
The food was also much spicier than expected. We were never asked about our preferred spice level, and several dishes were much hotter than expected. If spice levels aren’t customizable, the staff should let guests know in advance.
The restaurant also added a gratuity of nearly 18%. While I understand that some restaurants have a mandatory gratuity or service charge, I didn’t feel the quality of the service justified it.
Overall, the food had potential, but the combination of small portions, cramped seating, disappointing service, and poor value for the price left us with an unsatisfactory experience.

"Our experience was very, very bad. The
food quality was absolutely zero, it had no taste at all. And then the guy who I think was the manager, the one standing at the front counter wearing glasses, was very rude. Our kid was just being a little playful and he was telling him 'why are you making noise'. The service was absolutely zero. And it's very expensive too. I would just say don't go there and waste your money. They forcibly take tips as well, they had added it forcefully. It's very expensive and a very bad experience.

Decent Indian restaurant in Stroudsburg PA area offering variety of indian dishes with in reasonable price.
Quality of food: 4/5. Tried Samosa chat, was good. Veggie biryani was tasty
Ambience: Fewer tables available. Didn't have to wait to be seated.
Service: Had to wait for 20+ min and had to follow up once! No. of items ordered was less though. However, they were responsive after that.
Value for money $: Reasonably priced with a good portions.
Overall we liked it and would certainly visit again if I'm in that area

I recently visited Spice Route Restaurant and had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The food was exceptional and exceeded all my expectations. I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and Pepper Chicken, and both dishes were outstanding. The Chicken Fried Rice was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and generously portioned. The Pepper Chicken was the highlight of the meal, tender, juicy, and packed with rich pepper flavors that blended beautifully with the spices.
The restaurant's ambience was warm, comfortable, and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. The atmosphere was pleasant, clean, and well-maintained, which added to the overall dining experience.
What truly stood out was the excellent service. The staff were courteous, attentive, and ensured that everything was served promptly. Their hospitality made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our visit.
Overall, Spice Route delivers an excellent combination of delicious food, great ambience, and outstanding service. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Fried Rice and Pepper Chicken. I will definitely be visiting again.
