For everyday shoppers, this policy change creates a significant usability headache that undermines customer convenience. Previously, Giant Direct provided a generous buffer—allowing changes up to 1 1/2 to 2 hours before the scheduled pickup window. That window gave shoppers crucial flexibility to add forgotten ingredients, swap items, or adjust quantities as daily schedules shifted. By removing the cutoff time entirely, the system locks in orders almost instantly as fulfillment begins. This leaves zero room for last-minute modifications. If you realize an hour before pickup that you forgot milk or need to change your order, you are simply out of luck—forcing either a second order or an extra trip inside the store. This change comes directly at the consumer’s expense. What Giant Direct framed as an operational efficiency ends up feeling decidedly anti-customer, stripping away the exact flexibility that makes online grocery shopping so valuable. Regrettably, after a decade of loyalty, we will have to start shopping elsewhere at competing supermarket chains that still offer the order flexibility online shoppers rely on.

I went to self checkout the lady who was other there to assist came over to my register and helped me input a item because it was to heavy to lift. I finished the transaction and went out to the car. As i was loading the stuff in the car the lady followed me outside. She TOLD ME THAT I DIDNT PAY FOR MY ITEMS. WHICH I HAD. IM SURE SHE COULD PULL UP THE TRANSACTION ON THE MACHINE. IT WAS VERY EMBARRASING AS PEOPLE WERE LOOKING AT US AND SHE ACCUSED ME OF STEALING!
