My family was wanting to try this after hearing so much about it. Well it is me sincere hope that my experience was a one off. We ordered 4 of the Original Chicken Sandwiches, the Mac and Cheese Chicken Sandwich, a side order of mac and cheese, Cole slaw, Waffle Fries and Regular Fries. The Fries were horrible. Barley cooked and not edible. The chicken sandwiches were all over done, almost leathery. The Cole Slaw was so so. The only redeeming factor was the Mac and Cheese was tasty. For a rather expensive outing I would say I was not happy at all.

First time here. It is rather pricey for what you get. The hot honey chicken sandwich was ever so slightly larger than a Chick-fil-A sandwich but tasty. Also ordered an original chicken sandwich and asked for the sauce on the side. They still put the sauce on the chicken sandwich AND gave it to me on the side. The sandwich was for someone who doesn’t want the sauce so it was a problem that I didn’t discover until I was 30 minutes away. Mac and cheese not so great.

If you are looking for the best spot in Philly for chicken, stop scrolling. I have officially tried every single item on the menu here, and I can honestly say Chicky's doesn’t miss. It is rare to find a place where the quality is this consistent from the first bite of an appetizer to the last fry at the bottom of the box.
• The Nashville Mainstays: Whether you get the Nashville Chicken over fries or the tater tots, the chicken is always massive, juicy, and actually fresh—not that processed stuff you find elsewhere. The breading has that perfect crunch that holds up even with the sauce.
• The Peri-Peri Birds: The flame-grilled chicken is elite. You can tell it’s been marinated properly because the flavor goes all the way to the bone.
• The Heat Spectrum: From mild to the "extra hot" levels, the spice isn't just heat for the sake of heat—it actually has a deep, smoky flavor profile.
• The Sides & Sauces: Don’t sleep on the sides. The fries stay crispy, and their signature sauces are addictive. I’ve tried them all, and they are the perfect backbone for the meal.
The shop is always clean, the staff is efficient, and the food is consistently 10/10. After eating my way through the whole menu, I can't even pick a favorite because it's all top-tier. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out on a Philly staple.

We saw this place on social media and finally decided to try it. We were looking forward to a halal peri-peri option in the area. Unfortunately, Chicky’s did not live up to the hype (keep in mind it only opened a couple weeks ago). First of all, this place made the cardinal mistake of halal restaurants to include WAY too many items on the menu. If your focus is peri peri, you don’t need to do a Mac and cheese sandwich (along with wings, chicken over rice, etc.). The chicken sandwich we ordered as well as the wings were all undercooked. The “homemade lemonades” were also very mid. Second, the person taking orders need to be trained on how to take orders properly (and what the menu is) so you don’t have to go to each table and apologize for the orders that came out. Third, please be stocked with the proper cutlery needed to run a peri peri restaurant. How can you serve quarter chicken pieces and not have knives! Also, the presentation at places like Port of Peri Peri is similar to Nando’s where dine-in orders come on plates served with silverware. We were not expecting to be served in plastic containers with plastic cutlery. All in all, their recipes and cook time need some work but I think the potential is there. Who doesn’t love a halal restaurant and there is a need for a peri peri place in PA.

I rarely write reviews but....Mom and I popped in on a whim tonight and sat on their large wall of padded sofa reading the menu. The gentleman at the counter explained every aspect of the menu and offered us free lemonade of our choice while we reviewed the menu and placed our order. I loved his explanation of all the different chickens and sauces. It wasn't really busy then, but when we placed the order a few minutes later, the place was booming. We waited outside to enjoy Pottstown life while the food was prepped and it was non stop traffic going in the door and eating in the adorable dining room. I thought the wait time was good. 15-20 mins max. They took my cell number to let me know when it was ready and told me we could sit or hang out where we wanted. Our order....crispy chicken sandwich, skewers with pita, wings and a grilled chicken salad. OMG, best chicken sandwich ever. Wings were good, don't get me wrong, but the chicken sandwich outshined the wings. Mom had the skewers and she's now a huge fan. I highly recommend the mango habanero sauce. It's like eating a spicy mango. The mango taste is real! I have to admit i'm not a fan of a lot of stuff on my foods. I'll likely never try the hot honey nor the spicy oil anything. That's just me. I like spice, but I prefer the natural taste of things. But with that said, the crispy chicken sandwich with their chicky sauce was incredible and huge. For me that's two meals. That'll be my go to every time. Oh, I almost forgot the rice. The rice...omg I could make a meal of the rice. Get a side of rice with the skewers. It will not disappoint! hint hint....a bowl meal with chopped chicken, onions and peppers in that rice would be the bomb!
