  Everything about this place is top notch. Views of the city are beautiful, food is excellent as you would expect, but the service and hospitality was world class which is what impressed me the most. Zach was our server and he went above and beyond and if we're ever back in Pittsburgh we'll definitely be back!

  My fianceé and I were recently in Pittsburgh and had the best time at Altius. Our server, Greg, was fantastic. Very attentive, knowledgeable, supportive of my fiancée’s allergies, and very friendly. The food was out of this world! We would fly back to Pittsburgh just to go back to this restaurant. I’d recommend to anyone.

  I visited Altius for dinner and had a generally good experience, though not without a few small drawbacks. The location on Mount Washington is probably the highlight. The view of Pittsburgh at night is really impressive, especially if you get a window seat. The place feels upscale but still comfortable enough that you don’t feel out of place dressing smart casual. Food was solid overall. I tried a couple of their seafood dishes and a steak, and while everything was well-prepared and nicely presented, nothing felt particularly surprising or memorable for the price. Portions were reasonable but not large. Service was polite and professional, though at times a bit slow when it got busy. Overall, it’s the kind of place you go more for the view and atmosphere than for a standout dining experience. I’d consider going back for a special occasion, but probably not for a casual dinner.

  It pains my heart to give businesses anything less than 5 stars, but I have to be truthful in my experience here. Certainly a fine dining experience. Staff were attentive and service was good, view was spectacular. Food wasn’t my favorite. Presentation was pretty but everything had a sweet hint to it that I didn’t enjoy, even food that is supposed to be savory. For the price I would expect excellent food, but maybe worth visiting once to experience the view for a special occasion.

  We had an amazing time at Atilius. The views are some of the best we’ve ever experienced at any restaurant. We first came here five years ago and always talked about coming back—and it absolutely lived up to the memory. This time, we brought our kids, and it was just as special. The staff interaction is truly second to none. They don’t just serve you—they enhance the entire experience by sharing insights and making you feel part of something bigger. What really stood out was the atmosphere with other guests. Everyone was so personable and open. We ended up chatting with a couple while celebrating our anniversary, and also connected with lifelong friends sitting nearby who used to work together. Those interactions made the night even more memorable. We will definitely be back. Honestly, I’m already thinking about recommending this spot for my birthday just so we have an excuse to return.
