Absolutely stellar. This is my second, and my companion's third, time in here, and it has been out of the park both times as a tremendous understatement. The very slightly different-than-big-chain takes on the food, with authentic Mediterranean styling and ingredients for dishes that are from the area, are unbelievable. UNBELIEVABLE. Everything has had texture and flavor combinations that require absolute mastery to achieve. Tonight I had Chilean Sea Bass (not a Mediterranean dish, fair) and it was so. soft. I almost couldn't tell it different from the mashed potatos it came on save for the rolling gently buttery flavor. Not undone as it still had the characteristic white fish flaking when I inspected it, but done absolutely perfectly. It is a shock this place isn't mobbed for quality, the only legitimate reason I can think of is it inconveniences people being BYOB in a town/on a street with something like 10 taprooms in a single mile. Even at that the wine shop across the street has a symbiotic partnership with them and a few stellar choices. Get in there and have some of the best food of your life! This isn't Fuddruckers, experience the high life!

Came to Phoenixville for blobfest with 4 friends. One of the couples recommended Sage for dinner. It was an excellent choice. All 6 of us enjoyed our dinners. The service was great and will come back when visiting Phoenixville.

I've been too Sage several times over the years, and I think I'm finally done with it. Service - Service has always been hit and miss. Sometimes terrible, sometimes OK. Tonight, I walked in right behind a server who didn't bother to hold the door open when we followed her in, then she proceeded to walk to a back room ignoring us. We were left standing at the hostess stand for a few minutes until she decided to come back out to acknowledge us. There were only two table seated at the time, so they weren't busy. After we sat, we requested an ice bucket for a bottle of wine (keep in mind this is a BYOB). They server found the time to socialize with another server and other staff while we waited for our our ice bucket. Eventually, she found her way back to our table to take our order - completely forgetting about the ice bucket, which we eventually got. We ordered an app. After we finished the app, she came back to take our dinner order. Not the best timing. Food - We ordered two items. The fettucine and shrimp was a nice portion of pasta with a very generous 4 medium sized shrimp (note the sarcasm). One of the fish specials was topped with shrimp - my mistake forgetting shrimp can be both singular and plural.. it was one fish filet with one shrimp - not worth the $38 price! The flavor of the food remains OK, but they seem to be skimping on the proteins and overcharging for the meal. Bill - We charged our dinner, and when the credit card slip was given to us for signature, we found a surcharge for using a credit card that was NOT previously disclosed on the the menu or on the bill when it was presented to us. I questioned the host, and he said they started imposing that about a month ago, there should have been a sign on the front door (there wasn't), and someone must have taken it down. He did NOT offer to remove the charge. I think it's ridiculous when a restaurant is already overcharging for food (bill was over $80) then wants the customer to cover the credit card fee. Adios, Sage!
