My previous review was sent prematurely I was only drafting it, and I have no idea how the words ended up so scrambled. What I meant to say is that I had an amazing experience. I ordered a Macallan 12, smoked drink, truffle fries, and mussels, and everything was excellent. Ajoni was wonderful warm, professional, and truly an amazing addition to this establishment

I went with two friends for dinner and we were greeted at the door by the greeter and I'm assuming the manager. Our first server was nice but felt overwhelmed so we received another server. She was also nice and accommodating. I did not enjoy my meal. I ordered the shrimp and scallops fettuccine. It had thin sauce while tasting 'fishy' not seasoned. It came with a bunch of baby/salad size shrimp and scallops while the amount of noodles weren't equivalent. It wasn't flavorful at all. My friends enjoyed their meals which were salmon and steak. I do not recommend getting my meal however ordering other meals should be fine.

We expected more from a restaurant of this caliber. Was a very unexceptional experience.
We had a 5:30PM dinner reservation and didn’t get seated until 5:50. As we entered the dining room, 25% of the tables were empty; so why the wait? The 2nd disappointment was at the fact my wife’s encrusted tuna steak arrived cold. I get the fact it takes just a minute to cook, so it probably sat a while waiting for the other dishes, but when you’re charging $50 for a menu item you don’t get the freedom to make this mistake. And lastly, not the biggest deal, but I had upgraded my side mashed potatoes to lobster mashed…and they came regular. I would have notified our waitress if we ever saw her again after the food was delivered.
Overall the food was just ok. I was happy with my steak, and my son’s chicken dish wasn’t bad.
We just felt the overall experience here was that of a run-of-the-mill restaurant where you’re paying $150 or so for a family of 3. When you’re paying double that, you just expect more quality food and fewer mistakes. At comparable pricing you’re much better off going to Butcher and Singer.

Review: McCormick & Schmick’s — The Perfect Center City Happy Hour & Lunch Spot
I’ve been to McCormick & Schmick’s in Philadelphia several times, and it is a fantastic, convenient option right in the heart of Center City. Whether you are stopping by for their well-known happy hour or a nice lunch during Restaurant Week, it’s a reliable choice.
Happy Hour & Lounge
I’ve visited the lounge area for happy hour several times, and while it definitely gets busy, I’ve always been lucky enough to snag a seat. The selection is good, and the portions are surprisingly generous. The burger at happy hour is pretty good.
Restaurant Week Lunch
I also visited for lunch during Restaurant Week and really enjoyed the experience. I had one of their featured entrées from the prix-fixe menu, and it was delicious. The vegetables and side dishes were very fresh and well-prepared. While they are famous for steak and seafood, their lunch and lounge menus show they handle everything with high quality.
Service & Consistency
For the most part, the service has been good and professional. I did have one experience where the service was a bit subpar, but out of four visits, that was a one-time outlier. I’m happy to give them the benefit of the doubt based on my other positive experiences.
Pro-Tip: Skip the Traffic
Driving and parking in this area can be a major challenge. However, the restaurant is incredibly close to Jefferson Station and Suburban Station. If you are a Regional Rail commuter or just want to avoid the Center City traffic, it is a very easy walk from the train!
Final Verdict: A solid, upscale spot with one of the best happy hours in the city. Great food, a convenient location, and I'm definitely looking forward to trying a full dinner there soon!
