  The cashier at the self checkout at store opening is my least favorite cashier. She is never helpful with price discrepancies and of course customer service is not open at that time. The prices posted on products should be honored or a refund of the product should be given. People don't have time to wait till customer service opens.

  About two weeks ago, while using self-checkout at this Giant, another customer used the scanner assigned to me to scan their groceries. After that experience, I became understandably concerned about having my scanner placed somewhere out of my sight where another customer could access it. During my visit today, I explained this previous incident to an employee named Kayla and asked that the scanner be placed where I could see it. I made it very clear that if she needed to take the scanner, that was completely fine—I simply did not want it placed behind the self-checkout area where I could not see or monitor it. If Giant’s store protocol requires employees to keep the scanner behind the self-checkout area, I understand that Kayla may have been required to follow that policy. My problem is not that an employee has to follow store procedures. My problem is the complete lack of concern for what I was explaining. She could have called a supervisor, explained what had previously happened to me, and asked how my concern could be accommodated while still following store policy. Instead, she dismissed what I was saying, insisted on putting the scanner back, and showed no interest whatsoever in finding a solution. That is what bothered me the most. I wasn’t asking Kayla to break store policy or demanding special treatment. I was trying to prevent something that had ALREADY happened to me from happening again. Her response came across as entitled and completely dismissive, as though my concern as a customer simply did not matter. Based on my experience, I DO NOT recommend using self-checkout at this Giant. If the employee monitoring the self-checkout area cannot ensure that another customer does not access and use your assigned scanner—and a legitimate concern about that happening is simply dismissed—then I do not feel comfortable trusting the self-checkout process. If you shop at Giant, my recommendation is to check out with a cashier and avoid self-checkout. Another customer was able to use my scanner, and when I later tried to take a simple precaution to prevent it from happening again, my concern was treated as though it didn’t matter. I have never had these kinds of issues with Giant before, which makes this especially disappointing. Customers should not have to worry about someone else scanning merchandise onto their transaction. Employees can follow company policies while still listening to customers, taking security concerns seriously, and involving a supervisor when necessary. Based on how my concern was handled today, I personally will not trust self-checkout at this location again.

  This is unfortunately the closest grocery store to me and i always end up regretting not driving somewhere else. The meat selection is horrible and the deli has to be the worst in the country. They refuse to make eye contact, are on their phones a lot, and pretty much every time I’m there I’m standing around waiting for at least 5/10 mins before I’m greeted and my order is taken. There is one woman who is there a lot and I’ve never seen her help anyone she literally looks around to see if anyone else is available and has zero customer service skills. Today was it for me I’m at the deli waiting to ask if the rotisserie chickens were done yet (you can see them in the roasting oven). The woman was there not helping anyone though and the guy had a few customers ahead of me. He told me they’d be done in about 30 minutes so i ran home to start dinner and ran back about 30 mins later. I again am waiting while this woman at the deli just looks around for other coworkers to come help me and the other woman waiting and i finally just asked her if the chickens were done and i was told “idk why he told u that they’re in the back shredding them up”. Prices at giant are higher than any other grocery store at least hire people who have customer service skills.

  Advertising $3.77, charging $7.99. When asked why, they are saying that’s with digital coupon. Why customer who is already in your store needs to clip some stupid digital coupon? Who shops with coupons, I have scanned my Giant Card, what else you want? I am throwing away my Giant card, and not stepping to your stores anymore.
