  This is a solid location I prefer over the center city chestnut street location by miles. I got on a bus and ordered my food, 8 min later, I arrive, tell them my name, wash my hands, and by the time I come out, they are already handing me my cup. Before I could decide what drink I wanted, food was up. Hot, fresh, generous with the fries. Sure the price has gone up in recent years, but so has every other burger in the city, whether it’s fast food, a dive bar, or a dine-in restaurant. The quality of fries for the price is ultimately what wins me over for 5 guys- I love a fresh, from scratch fry that is slightly crisp, and pillowy on the inside. Places like Picnic are charging NINE DOLLARS in 2026 for comparable fries. At “local” restaurants, the nasty Sysco coated fries have taken over menus the last decade and they’re downright disgusting - they don’t taste like potatoes, they taste like fryer oil and they never have that Maillard browning of a damn good fresh fry. Sysco fries are so widespread I have to now look at Google review pictures before ordering fries because it’s a waste of every cent spent. Fresh cut, soft, and stupid generous - it’s clearly a russet potato. And Heinz ketchup? They’re not cutting corners here! And yes, the burger is great too! Fresh toppings, meaty, H O T T O G O! Comparable burgers without fries and drink are more expensive in most of the city. The only place that has 5 guys beat is fountain porter but I’m not about to trek halfway across the city for a burger and fries. (But if you will, do so.) Now the main reason why I’m even putting in effort for this “fast food review” - whoever was on expo (stocky young bull with a beard) last night must be the MOD, and if he’s not, he should be. Not only was he getting the food out, and communicating with the kitchen and guests about whose food is up, he was also managing the dining room from his post. If I owned a restaurant, I’d give him my card. Someone who not only does his job, but does it damn well, beyond his pay grade.

  The dining area was pretty standard for this kind of establishment, but we were able to find a table right away even late on a Friday. The food was alright, though the buns were a little too soft for my liking.

  My burger bun taste like a rag, you know how you clean the grill , well what ever they cleaned the grill with , that’s what my burger bun taste like 😩🤦🏽‍♀️ My burger was kinda of soft , that might just be a preference thing, I didn’t tell the cook fried hard.

  I came by to collect an Uber Eats order. I was told by the employees that I could not use their PUBLIC bathroom without buying food. In 2 years of doing delivery I have never been denied public bathroom use.
