  I was charged a different (i.e. more expensive) price than was listed on the menu. I had to mention this to the employee to have it corrected.

  I had a very uncomfortable experience outside of Manhattan Bagels, and honestly it was a terrible first impression of the store. A man stopped me before I went in asking for money and told me he would wait for me to come back out which was uncomfortable because there’s only one entrance/exit. When I came back out, he started asking for donations saying things like “$30, $50, $110” and claimed it was for charity. Even though I didn’t have much to give, I still decided to donate, and he actually became upset about the amount I gave. If you are truly doing a fundraiser, you should never be upset about any amount someone is willing to donate. He then stuffed the money into his suit jacket pocket, which felt very unprofessional and honestly made the whole situation seem suspicious. What made it stranger was that when I first arrived, a worker was already outside smiling and standing with him, so the store 100% knew he was there. I don’t know whether it was a scam or not, but customers should not feel pressured or harassed for money right outside the only exit. If the store wanted to support that fundraiser or charity, they should have just placed a donation jar inside instead of allowing customers to feel cornered on their way out. The whole situation honestly felt like entrapment. Terrible way to support a fundraiser, and a great way to make customers NEVER want to come back. After posting my honest experience, instead of apologizing or addressing the situation, the owner responded by claiming my review was fake and threatened to report my review (most likely so they will get it taken down and have a higher rating). I stand by what I experienced and have screenshots of the response. I will also be reporting this interaction to Google along with the company. Thank you.
