  I have one major gripe that seems to be getting more frequent. They open at 6 every day, but many days when I go to check out at 8-830 A.M. they do not have a cashier in sight. So I lug my cart full of groceries to the undersized self checkouts, which are clearly designed for at most 3-4 medium bags of groceries. I proceeded to clock in to my cashiers job and start to scan my items, carefully placing them on the bagging scale as to not upset the emotionally unwell self checkout. "PLEASE PLACE ALL ITEMS IN THE BAGGING AREA!" Is a phrase which bellows from the machine between nearly every item scanned. The self checkout babysitter is always on standby as usually 2-3 times it gets upset at me for one reason or another. About half way through it yells at me as I have exceeded the weight limit for the scale which forces me to precariously, balanced the remaining groceries in my cart on a flimsy metal shelf on the non scale side of the self checkout. After which i proceed to unload my grociers off the scale in hopes to appease the equipment. After all that the machine proceeds to ask my I would like to round up to the next dollar for a charitable donation. With all the theatrics aside I understand I could request a cashier but its not my job to do the managers job nor should it be my job to do the cashiers job at an insufficiently designed self check out. Its ridiculous that 2 hours after they open they cant have one lonely cashier staffed checkout open. My gripe isn't with the self checkouts exclusively its with expecting people with carts full of groceries to go through checkouts clearly designed for less items. if they turned all the unused normal checkouts into conveyor based self checkouts I wouldn't be upset because the self checkouts would match the functionality of a normal checkout. Because giant does not have those style check outs and refuses to consistently staff employees at the registers this review remains a 1 star. I hope to delete this review some day and replace it with a more positive one.

  It was a grocery store I had never been to before. The employees are so helpful. The food varieties were very bright. Try them out if you haven't.
