  I was a regular customer at this supermarket, and this morning I went to pick up a bottle of wine for later, as well as some soft drinks. I stopped by the wine section and picked out a bottle of bubbly rosé – and when I left the wine department to try to grab a soft drink, a giant employee ran after me screaming "Sir, sir, sir, you have to pay for that here" – I calmly explained to her that I was just going to grab something. However, she insisted that I give the wine to her and let her hold onto it till I was ready. I thought this was extremely rude. I don't know if it's the color of my skin or what, but I've been a customer at that supermarket for about 10 years, and I've never heard of any restriction where you're not allowed to pick up alcohol then shop. I just picked up the essential items I needed and left the store. The same lady was waiting at the door for me and asked me if I got my wine — I told her no, you people are rude, I'll never be back, and I won't.This was clearly some kind of profiling which I'm extremely offended by – I will never return to this supermarket again and instead will be shopping at the local Trader Joe's or Wegmans. I've never had an issue at either of those establishments

  I'm not sure what's been happening with the hot bar at this Giant, but the quality has really gone downhill lately. The chicken and mac and cheese used to be excellent, and I always enjoyed stopping by for lunch. Recently, though, I've consistently found the chicken overcooked and the mac and cheese dry and unappetizing. I've spoken with both Corporate and the store manager about these issues, but it seems that nothing has been done to address or correct them. I'm not sure if anyone is conducting quality checks on the food, but something has clearly changed. It's frustrating to spend part of my lunch break coming here only to be disappointed. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit to the hot bar. What a disappointment. I expected much better from a store that I have enjoyed and supported for years.

  Went in today, looking for some sugar-free grape juice and got some really excellent help from Shakira! She spent extra time with me and, with the help of one of the managers, figured out they were in the refrigerator, not out on the shelves. Good customer service there! Walked out super satisfied!

  Racial profiling at self checkout unacceptable. I was racially profiled at Giant supermarket this morning. I was the only customer at the self-checkout. The woman in the wheelchair was watching me as usual. Something odd happened after I rang up my five items (total $22 and some change). When I went to pay, my screen suddenly switched to “Help is on the way.” I thought that was strange. Then another employee appeared out of nowhere, swiped her card, and proceeded to play back the transaction to check whether I had scanned everything. I looked her in the face and said, “Really?” as she retreated. This appears to be a tactic they are using, possibly to try to prevent lawsuits or similar issues. I will be looking further into this because, at the end of the day, I should not be treated like a criminal. I hope this message reaches the masses, especially anyone who has experienced the same thing and thought nothing of it.
