  The staff in the bakery are amazing. They made a beautiful custom birthday cake for us with less than 24 hours notice. Very thankful for them!

  I've been going here for a couple years now. They have a great selection of items, and it's pretty uncommon that I can't find what I'm looking for. The staff are always friendly and helpful. To repeat: they are always happy to help, polite, and diligent. I do not think that there is any room for improvement from the employees themselves. That said, I think the employees, and the store long-term, might benefit from 1-2 extra people per department per shift. Though I've heard no complaints, I don't get the impression that corporate treats their storefront employees particularly well. Bare minimum, I expect stores to give their workers places to sit so they aren't standing all day, and I expect any store to let their workers keep water nearby to re-hydrate throughout the day.

  I had a very disappointing experience with the deli department today. I placed my order through the deli kiosk, which I regularly use at other Giant stores without any issues. This location had virtually no customers waiting, yet it took approximately 20 minutes for my order to be completed. At other, much busier Giant locations, my deli orders are typically ready within 5 minutes. The biggest issue was the quality of the slicing. I ordered 1/4 lb of Boar’s Head Turkey Pastrami with thick slices. What I received was unacceptable—extremely thick, uneven cuts that looked more like chunks than professionally sliced deli meat. The attached photo speaks for itself. Unfortunately, this store is about an hour from my home, so returning the product is not practical. Between the excessive wait time and the poor quality of the order, this was one of the worst deli experiences I’ve had at a Giant store. I expect much better quality control and customer service from a store carrying premium products like Boar’s Head.
