This store gave me issues while working thru DoorDash. They were out of stock of an item, cheddar sausages in the meat department. The meat department had a power outage earlier in the day, and lost a bunch of food. The manager herself informed me of this upon arriving at customer service for help, and called the meat department to meet me in the back to check stock the second time I went up requesting help. I met the gentleman at the department counter. I explained my situation, and we looked for the tag without success. Then he went in the back of house to check for stock. There was none, so he came out and informed me of such. While annoying to deal with all that, it wasn’t what sent me. What upset me was the lack of care put into keeping stock and shelves up to date, when others’ jobs hinge on it.
In the end, the staff didn’t have or couldn’t produce the empty shelf for me to photograph so I can get their out of stock item excluded from my ratings!!! I asked the staff directly and they said they had no clue where it was. It’s the only way I can get accurate ratings. DoorDash has worked this way for months so they have no excuse: all items need to have a shelf with proper tags to show it’s truly out of or in stock!!! It’s really frustrating I got poorly rated for my shopping thru DoorDash basically because their meat department manager didn’t want to immediately staff to update the stock and shelves after a major incident like a power outage :/ it didn’t cause me to lose my status or anything as I had an almost perfect track record. But it did make me upset.
The only excuse I can think of is this location is understaffed. And all I have to say to that is: Is it truly that complicated and expensive to staff this store precisely as it needs it?? Truly, whose fault is that? Because that’s who needs to be spoken with. Whoever is pushing for less labor in this store to boost their bonus can pound sand. Because whatever “efficiency” and “cost savings” you think you’re gaining from staffing like this is null when you do the math. You are going to rapidly lose customers and staff if things are not fixed. And honestly? You kinda deserve it for treating people like crap- customers and staff. Your employees are always so tired and so hungry when I go in. Probably because you pay them next to nothing to grind all the time.
We all know you need more staff than ever with pickup, mobile and online shopping now possible. I could tell it was a skeleton crew in there the other day, and honestly felt bad for the manager. She didn’t staff this way- Giant forced her to. They must be dealing with immense pressure from corporate to staff so minimally. And it is really noticeable!
Please give this store the labor it needs to run smoothly. Between the outdated shelves and missing stock, I did not have a pleasant experience at all. I gave 2 stars because the manager was really kind and helped me a ton. But she was the only bright spot.

This Exton Giant grocery store has a wide selection of fresh fruit, fresh produce, meat, and other essentials no other grocery store in Southeastern PA can match that trust. Giant used to have its BonusCard loyalty program, now they have the Giant Choice Rewards loyalty program. Giant even has Martin's potato chips!

I did self-check out and as my receipt was printing (quite literally) I was approached by the associate on duty if I scanned my box of tissues on the bottom of my cart but she didn't ask anyone else and didn't want to bother reading my receipt when I presented it to her to answer her question. I did not appreciate this especially when others had left with items on the bottom of their carts. I have been here many times and this associate is the only one that has done this and this isn't the first incident. Also, this store isn't the best with inventory when items are often listed as many units in stock and yet aren't on the shelves.
