- JMJohnson Maclin3 days ago5.0We had an excellent dinner at Out of the Fire Cafe. It has a beautiful fine-dining atmosphere without feeling too formal, and the service was fantastic. The servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful if you’re unsure what to order. Definitely ask about the daily specials, because some of the best options aren’t on the regular menu and are prepared fresh with seasonal ingredients. My wife had the shrimp with sticky rice, and I had the burger with fries and Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. The Caesar salad portion was easily enough for two people. I actually ordered the kids’ burger, which is still a good-sized single patty — the regular burger comes with two patties and is huge! The fries were amazing, especially with the truffle oil and cheese. Their seafood selection also looked excellent — scallops, tuna, salmon, mussels and other options — although they have plenty of choices for chicken and beef lovers too. And save room for dessert! We asked our server for her recommendation and went with the banana dessert at the top of the dessert menu. It was incredible — warm caramelized bananas with cinnamon syrup paired with cold vanilla ice cream. The combination of hot banana, warm syrup and cold ice cream was the perfect way to finish dinner. We arrived around 5 PM without a reservation and got a table, but by the time we left around 6:30 the parking lot was packed and people were waiting. I would definitely recommend making a reservation, especially for dinner. Amazing food, drinks, atmosphere and service. One of our favorite meals from the trip and definitely worth visiting.

It is truly something out of a dream. So surreal and magical, particularly the way they utilize lighting in the dining room and the magnificent glow it creates at night. Lastly in terms of aesthetic, your dining experience will be accompanied by the panorama of the Laurel Highlands. The food is also excellent as well. While the menu is on the smaller side, the options are high quality with many healthy choices available. If you are looking for dreamlike dining, then Out of the Fire is definitely a place to visit.
- TSTeresa SJul 19, 20263.0I’ve been excited to come here, and we finally made it out! Unfortunately, we weren’t a fan of the food at all. We started with the shrimp & crab dip which was super heavy on its own and was paired with a greasy fried pita. For $18, it was very skimpy on the seafood. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich since the server mentioned the restaurant was built on the smoked salmon. I thought it would be the pan seared salmon I saw in reviews. Unfortunately, it was a weird shredded salmon and honestly tasted like a bad tuna sandwich (the aioli, cheese, and fatty fish were just too much. It was soo heavy.) I ate a couple bites and took it home. My husband thought he’d eat it for lunch the next day, but agreed it was gross and threw it out. My husband ordered a burger and said it was alright, but again, super greasy with the fatty meat + heavy sauce, and he couldn’t finish it. The fresh cucumber salad was great! If super rich foods are your forte, maybe you’d love them! Based on the pictures in other reviews, other menu items look better and more balanced, but I don’t think we’ll come back to try them. In terms of service, our server was very nice, but I felt bad because she was super stressed. It looked like it was only her and one other server who were running the whole restaurant (inside and out!). It was odd because there were 3 other employees at the hostess table. Maybe we were just there at a weird time between meals with a lot of staff on lunch breaks? Anyways, it was underwhelming.
