- LLLiz LiebermanMay 11, 20261.0My husband and I approached the registers with a cart packed with items. We asked who appeared to be a manager if there were any employees operating a checkout line. He responded with, "you guys are young, I think you can figure out self checkout." Incredibly rude. Giant: hire more people. I should not walk up to a line of empty registers and be forced to check myself out. In a time where unemployment is skyhigh, I'd be very curious to see the profits that Giant is bringing in. Automation is not the answer. Pro tip: if you don't feel like checking yourself out, Wise markets is maybe a mile away, and they don't appear to be purposely understaffed.

I put in the order several hours in advance to be picked up at 5. When I showed up, there was no one at the grocery pick up area. When someone did show up, my order had never been received and was not going to be ready for an unknown amount of time. Mine and several other orders, apparently. I had to have it cancelled and now I have to either go shopping before closing, or wake up at 5am so I can make it there before I have to go to my full-time job. This used to be a reliable service. Guess its back to trying to squeeze in what little time we have to shop for ourselves.
