  I want to file a complaint about the older gentleman in the deli area who also handles alcohol checkout. He is always unpleasant, never says hello, and never tells me my total. Today he said “excuse me” at me as if I was doing something wrong, even though he wasn’t paying attention and needed to complete something on his end. This has been a pattern and needs to be looked into.

  I stopped in this afternoon around 4:00pm for a few items and had 6 cases of soda. I went through the self-checkout and asked the cashier in charge if she could ring the cases through as a quantity (as I’ve done many times before) so I wouldn’t have to lift them and ring them individually. She replied shortly, “They (the registers) don’t do that here.” I inquired how other cashiers were able to ring them through that way before and she replied, “Well, I can’t.” I bit my tongue because I did not want to cause a scene. I then proceeded to ring up the 6 cases and then had to remove them from the scale mid-order as they exceeded the weight limit of the scale and a message appeared on the screen. I worked for 5 years in a supermarket as both a bagger and a cashier. Never once was I short with a customer in the manner that this woman was with me. If I couldn’t help the customer myself, I would find someone who could. Please work at retraining this employee on customer service as well as how to work the POS system to ring quantities through.
