This is without doubt the worst Safeway store; we moved here a couple of years ago from Canby and immediately noticed that there is NEVER anyone at the customer service desk. Today, at 3:30 there were 20 people in the self check line and that many at the ONLY checkout open. My husband politely asked a uniformed clerk if he could call for another checker, only to be told "that's not my job!" Isn't customer service every employee 's job? West linn safeway is run beautifully and are polite and helpful, Canby will bend over backwards and quickly get someone at customer service if you need it. We will simply go to west linn from now on and not have to run the assault course which is Safeway Wilsonville!

The employees there are. bitter if they are asked to simply cash in cans for a custoner. The same bitter employee Told me the other week "unfortunatly I am using this cart( Empty cart) I made a simple statement that I sure could use that cart if that is ok?. Another employee that was going to cash my cans for me but he said that he didnt know how to use the can machine. And his final statement was that nobody in the store knows how, even the store manager doesnt know how to use the can machine. That was a lie. The first bitter employee said that she was the one that does that for customers. Made me feel like I never wanted to shop at that Safeway again. and I only moved to Wilsonville 30 days ago. I WON'T shop there ANYMORE... I have not been in Fred Meyer yet. I will start shopping there.

TL;DR: Needs new, better management and proper information about drive up and pickup hours. I planned a drive up pickup order so that I could grab some things as I was going to pass nearby on the freeway with luggage in my car and I didn't want to leave it alone in a parking lot. I planned to get there between 5 and 6pm but my flight was delayed. It shouldn't have been a problem because the store claims to be open until 11pm and I was still going to arrive around 8pm. I notified the store I was on my way using the app as instructed and granted location permission so they could see when I would arrive as the app requested. I got there and used the app to notify them and tell them what space I was in. The app told me someone would be coming shortly. I waited 20 minutes and nobody came. I went inside to inquire and found out that the guy who handles drive up orders had left because he always leaves by 8 and sometimes earlier if nobody is on their way. I had arrived a couple of minutes after 8. The lady who told me this was very nice - none of this situation is her fault in any way. She said she would get the manager to hand me my groceries. But then she came back to say that the manager had gone on lunch while I was waiting outside and that there would be no way to get my groceries unless I waited for her to finish her lunch. So they knew I was coming but the regular person left AND the manager went on lunch after I was already sitting outside and had notified them I was there. I read the order confirmation email again very carefully and nowhere did it say that the drive up pickup stopped earlier than the store closed. The app could have told me drive up pickup was stopping before I would arrive. Someone at the store could have called me to tell me this instead of letting me drive there and then sit outside waiting when they knew nobody would be coming. I still had a drive ahead of me so I didn't want to wait and instead went around the store and found the items I needed. I then went to the only open checkout lane but nobody was working there, despite the big green light. The only way to pay for my groceries was the self checkout lane which would have been fine but it was more difficult because I hadn't brought a cart in with me as I expected my groceries to be bagged and ready - at the worst case if they weren't able to bring them to my car. The woman who explained everything to me took down my name and number said that the manager would call me back after her lunch but I never heard from her. Tomorrow I'll have to dispute the charges for the groceries I wasn't allowed to pick up with the credit card company. I definitely won't go back to this store again! At least my luggage wasn't stolen...
