Expansive luminous windows showcase the enchanted view of towering fir trees and patio area. The menu offers a variety of date night entrees but our favorite last night by far was a spin on a Greek style mushrooms appetizer that the owner and chef added artichoke to and it was better than we could have imagined! Well done Shannon! Keep bringing us your Mediterranean inspired dishes! My husband enjoyed a heavily clammed pesto seafood pasta and I had their enormous traditional lasagna. Their red blend was decent and I was the first to try their new fall spiced apple cocktail (I recommend requesting served hot). This is one of Sherwood's most elegant restaurant atmospheres and when we occasionally get the chance for a local date night, it's a beautiful spot! Plan a few hours for this dining experience as they've struggled to predict how busy it may be with all the changes in the industry since the pandemic era. You might wait 30+ minutes for water if they are busier than anticipated and it might take 1+ hour to get your food. The wait may be shorter when they have their regular bartender there. * They do need to start using paper, tablecloths or refinish their well-used tables. * Waiters should never sample off of a guests drink even if it is the first time that particular drink is being served and they are curious what it tastes like. They should definitely not disgust the guest by admitting it at the table! (huge vibe killer) * Waiters should introduce themselves and also politely ask or say excuse me when they are reaching through the food laiden table to add evening lighting (little lamp shades should not be broken). * Emptied alcohol bottles with large obtrusive labels I should not sit on the tables (tacky). * There does not appear to be any dress code however the ambient tone invites a more refined attire. With very few atmosphere changes this could easily be Sherwood's premier fine dining option almost secretly nestled into a small forested area bordering the national wildlife refuge conveniently just north of the main highway through this charming little city. For locals to wine country tourists looking for a hidden gem with easy parking and no big city traffic or drama this is a lovely haven for a delightful evening! I can envision them hosting live music in the form of a singer-songwriter, R&B or soft rock duo or even a jazzy trio! The owner and head chef popping around two tables at the end of the evening to chat with guests is a wonderful practice we appreciate seeing here in America! Brávo! Ευχαριστώ πολύ

The shrimp and grits was prepared with a Cajun twist today. I liked it very much however I will ask for the regular way of prep as this had a bit of spice. Either way if you like spice ask for the Cajun style if you like it plain just ask they are great.

The ribeye is gone now and replaced by a new york. Still with fries! Last I went it was ribeye and fries. Over 40$! No vegetable. Steak should never come with fries! Wifes pasta was mid. We talked to the owner and ended up walking out and found actually decent food for our date night. It was soooo good a few years back, went south fast. Sad! It has a great setting! Could be what it once was!
