  Deeply disappointed with the pharmacy staff. I ordered a same day delivery and got sent the wrong meds. This is incredibly concerning- why aren't the staff checking their orders? For me it was only infuriating, for others this could be deadly.

  Got accused of stealing a 10 cent bag at self checkout because I brought in an old safeway bag to reuse, and the guy looked at me as I was walking out and rudely said "and you selected zero bags and still got a bag" (he was being kinda short/rude before that but I let it roll off my shoulders cause hey, it's an overwhelming place & he's probably stressed out). But that comment was super unnecessary and the way he said it to me as I was leaving was super rude, on top of him already being condescending before that because I was having trouble with the machine...I was with my family too. When I said "oh, I brought this in" he just said "oh" and walked off, no apology or anything.

  Stopped in to get a few groceries while visiting Seaside. I had to download the app to get the sale items (I'm not a big fan of that but I do realize that is a company policy). I was having a hard time getting the register to accept my phone number since it was a new account. I wish I had gotten the name of the employee, but there was a man working in the self checkout on 8/3/26 in the afternoon (around 5-6pm) who helped me and made sure I got an additional discount for signing up for an account. It can be a little overwhelming to go to a new place and try to figure these things out but I was very thankful for his help!

  I have shopped at Seaside Safeway for over 27 years, as well as worked for Safeway stores in youth. I realize there’s a lot of changes and policies that must’ve taken place over the years, but all in all I’ve always felt that it’s a good company that strives for a clean, friendly environment for shoppers to find pretty much what they need. The floral department is the gem of this store with consistently an offering of fresh, beautiful flowers and great customer service, which I buy from weekly & enjoy. The produce dept also is usually a place to find fresh items with a great variety . I use the pharmacy regularly, and have appreciated the hard working staff as well. My issue is with the checkout, which has continually just is becoming ruder, and the customer service bare minimum. I realize everyone can have a bad day, but the last few times I’ve been in ( generally 2-3 times a week) it’s been just unacceptable. This last Friday is an example. About 3:00 in the afternoon, with the store not very busy, I waited in Christeens lineA that I know are polite.. She was pleasant enough to the woman with a child in front of me, so I was relieved that this will be a good experience. When it was my turn, I asked if she could please double the bags. I had over 275.00 unloaded of heavy cans, large bags of sugar& flour, and heavier produce and dairy, and lately have noticed that the brown paper bags rip very easily ( as most checkers have agreed with me), so definitely didn’t want to struggle with getting everything into my house. As soon as I asked, Christeens demeanor completely changed. The scowl was almost comical, but nothing was funny as instead of a friendly “ Hello, how are you today?” Or “ Of course, no problem “ I received a snotty reply to remind me that the bags were .10 apiece. I told her that was not a problem, just wanted to get them through my door. She then DRAMATICALLY opened one bag, and then worked the 2nd bag slowly into the other. Checked out a bag full of, set it aside and repeated the drama on next . I offered to bag them myself as I do that a lot here, but she said no, it’s just really fighting me to get in. This follows by completely ignoring me, and no more speaking except to tell checker behind me with information and to her customer. I received an awkward, insolent experience up to the very end with when I thanked her, replied absolutely nothing than to stand and slowly folded up my receipt in have and hung her arm out to allow me to take it. I realize this is a lengthy note, but I just am getting more frustrated every time I shop unless I can spot 2-3 cashiers I know are great. When someone spends money in the store it pays for wages, and if it’s so difficult to be pleasant to a customer then they need a different job. That’s it
