The first call was answered, and the agent did not speak for 8 minutes, then hung up. I called again and the person who answered just asked me twice, "So, what further assistance do you want?" Treat people the way you want to be treated, Safeway. **original review** I visited the deli on June 30, 2026, to buy some peperoni. The woman behind the counter sliced my peperoni on a filthy meat slicer. It was covered in bits and debris from other meats. I took a photo and showed the manager on duty. She said she would handle it. Flash forward to today, July 11, 2026, and once again the meat slicer is filthy and the man behind the counter sliced a customer's order right on top of yet another disgusting meat slicer. Again, I took a photo of the filthy slicer and watched him cut someone's order and let it fall on the chunks of old food left on the slicer. I showed the photos to the 'person in charge' and she and the other employee I was speaking to exchanged looks and the supervisor said to the other employee, "There's no point in going over there, he won't listen to me." Their plan is to let the cross-contamination continue and not do a thing. Protect yourself from food poisoning and pay attention to the equipment your butcher or deli operator is using on your order.
