  Safeway in general is a very good grocery store chain with above average selection of products. The exception is the Reedsport, OR. store. This store is smaller and has a limited floor space to work with and as such all the isle are so narrow one can barely pass to carts side by side. While they do offer roasted chickens in the bag, they do not have anything one would call a deli department. The registers are so limited in space that today a lady using one of the sit down carts kept getting hung up on display framework while trying to get through the checkout and required assistance. This might sound like an unavoidable consequence of a shortage of floor space. However the store is located in a small strip mall and several time through the years the floor space adjacent to Safeway has become available, but apparently Corporate does not feel the customers in the community or the influx of the many travelers deserve a better shopping experience. Currently the adjacent space has been available to expand for far more than a year, yet nothing has moved forward. Generally I do most of my shopping across the street because, like today, Safeway does not have space for a reasonable selection. Most candy bars are located at the register checkouts with bagged candy spread over several different locations so you have to hunt. Of the 3 different preferred major brand candy bars I wanted, Safeway had none. So I purchased one of the 4 items I was looking for and then went across the street and purchased the others. Next time I will start there and do a one stop shop. Tip to Corporate, expand into the space next door while you can! As far as the Reedsport, OR location goes you are loosing more sales and customers than the savings of not expanding will justify.

  Tiny Safeway, barely fit 2 carts side by side in the aisles. Somewhat primitive, no self checkout, but the friendly and helpful staff make up for what they lack in technology. Feels like the employees are family. I definitely recommend.

  For a very old store, they keep it up Well. There were several cashiers working on a late Sunday afternoon. I was looking for lunch, they had whole roasted chickens and pot pies which they actually use the chicken meat from the roasted chickens. It was excellent. The puff pastry on top of that pot pie was delicious. And it was only $6. For a smaller Safeway, they had everything essential, like ice cream! Bread. Deli meats, macaroni salad. The sandwiches look fresh, and anything that was going to go out of date was discounted. Friendly staff. I saw them putting in new garbage bags outside. It's a clean store.

  This is a fully stocked Safeway location but the isles are so narrow and it gets rather crowded.
