He was doing the best he could to take care of customers at the hot case People were 5 and 6 deep with more coming. There were at least that many at the meat and cheese case, myself included. The two women working did not help anyone, did not acknowledge anyone and just kept doing what they were doing behind the counter. Eventually every person at the meat and cheese case walked away, I stayed a little longer before giving up. I waited over 15 minutes. The two women both saw me, both at one time walked past me and nothing and the poor guy at the hot case was still going as fast as he could still having a line. I worked in a service deli for years , that kind of customer service would have never been acceptable. I have been disappointed in Safeway the last few months and that saddens me because it is the only place I shop. My normal items are not being carried anymore and now the customer service is not as good as it was. 4/29/26
