Too much digital. Everyone start walking around like a robot. How about a sale is for everyone. The management is rude. The employees are friendly though. I can't go here anymore. Enough with who gets a sale price or not. Either it's for a digital price or a special membership price. Hello winco and savings.why would i. Stop your bs sales for electronic.

I had a really disturbing experience at this Safeway that made my daughter and her friend feel racially profiled and discriminated against. They went in looking for canned boba and didn’t know what aisle they were in, so they started walking around trying to find them. When they went into an aisle with a bunch of drinks, both girls spoke to each other that the boba probably wouldn’t be there and would probably be in the Asian and Mexican aisle. My daughter than states “they’re pretty racist here. but it was loud enough the cosmetic vendor heard her comment. My daughter is Mexican and that was also visible of them being a minority. The SECOND my daughter made her comment, a woman working as a vendor inside the store immediately turned her head toward us very hostile like and asked what we were looking for. We told her canned boba. They started to walk away while one girl stayed behind, and after I left, this woman actually told one the girls that she was going to watch them. When they eventually found the canned boba and came out of the aisle with it, she had moved from where she had originally been and positioned herself closer to minor children. She was standing there watching them very gawking like and then asked if they had found what we were looking for in manner than was implying we were doing something wrong, observing them. They had done absolutely NOTHING suspicious. They weren’t concealing merchandise, opening anything, or doing anything that would suggest they were stealing. They were literally walking around trying to find canned boba. What makes this especially disturbing is that she explicitly told them she was going to watch them very snarkly and then actually repositioned herself to continue monitoring them. This wasn’t them simply “feeling” like someone happened to be looking at us. She verbalized her intention to watch them. Whether she was a vendor or a Safeway employee does not change the fact that this happened while we were customers inside Safeway. Being singled out and monitored like potential thieves when we had done nothing wrong felt discriminatory, biased, humiliating, and completely unnecessary. Customers should be able to walk into a grocery store and look for a product without being treated like criminals. Safeway needs to take discriminatory profiling seriously, including when it comes from vendors they allow to work inside their stores. Vic shame on you, as well, when I came back you stood there silent. As I tell the vendor she was not being professional she proceeds to put her hand into my face. As a pre-law student I know better and I know the systemic racism that exist and that was demonstrated today.

Safeway on King Road is one of those neighborhood grocery stores that still has a local community feel. While it may not be the newest or biggest store around, what really stands out is the staff. Many employees go out of their way to be friendly, helpful, and recognize their regular customers, which makes shopping here feel more personal than a typical grocery run. The store is generally clean, well-organized, and convenient for everyday shopping. The produce, bakery, and grocery selections offer plenty of options, and having services like the deli, pharmacy, and pickup options makes it a convenient one-stop shop. Like any busy neighborhood store, experiences can vary. Some departments can get overwhelmed during peak times, and occasional stock issues or longer waits happen. However, the dedication of many employees and the familiar neighborhood atmosphere are what keep many shoppers coming back. Overall, Safeway on King Road is a dependable community grocery store with a hardworking team, convenient location, and the kind of familiar neighborhood feel that is becoming harder to find.
