  It's alright pharmacey has room for improvement self checkout seems pretty over jaded by thieves loss prevention or whatever you call them are not as uncomfetorable and aggressive as 122nd but if your at all unlucky enough to appear profitable be prepared for a very uncomfetorable shopping trip customer service is nice but can be scarce n maybe a wait most times and lastly I'm afraid to say that I got surprisingly bad produce one day which is weird for Safeway thought it worth mentioning

  We have shopped at store #3134 since it opened. Up until about 2 months ago, the checkers have been first rate: professional, friendly, efficient, and providing a full service, including doing the bagging. Not any more. After our encounter today, I'm ready to ditch Safeway. Today the checker couldn't wait to get off duty. He pushed my 76 year-old husband to do all the bagging. He threw the receipt at me and walked away in a huff, like we were an imposition. We got no 'good-bye, thank you, have a nice day, go-to-hell, or anything else. When we unpacked the groceries at home, it became clear that my husband missed the French bread we paid for. Your customers deserve WAY better.

  Delivery drivers need to have their licenses checked and their background checks ran. Not sure how they are so unqualified and terrible at driving. Dangerous to all cars especially on a street like Hawthorne! Happened at 4:15 ish on 15th.

  We ordered grocery delivery a day early and selected a 6-10pm time slot mainly due to not being home until 530pm. Received multiple messages starting at 6 pm that groceries were on the way. Then received message that groceries would arrive at 9pm then another message that it would be 950pm. Then at 1005pm , received a phone call that it was now after 10pm and groceries would be delivered the next day instead. Waiting all evening then canceling did not inspire confidence. Called store the next morning and the person was friendly and apologetic and relayed the issue with delivery drivers. She agreed to a refund.

  This Safeway is a hot mess. A few main complaints: - The pharmacy is extremely slow. Every time I go, it seems like there is a line of 3+ people, while other staff texts and works on their computer instead of opening the second line to get through customers faster. - Virtually every time I come in, regardless of day and time, they are blocking the aisles to stock the shelves. Morning, afternoon, evening - they have full carts in the way and do not move. - They constantly let people bring their dogs in the store. I have literally never been to a grocery store where I’ve seen so many dogs. I love dogs, but I do not want them in my grocery store (it’s also a health code violation). - Self checkout scanners constantly claim you are adding unpaid items to the pile, resulting in the need for staff to come over and fix the error. Staff has also been pretty rude and condescending in the past, implying that I am trying to steal items. Additionally, unless there is an employee standing at the exit, you are penned in like an animal until someone can come scan your receipt or open the gate for you. I am so glad I finally moved to another part of town and don’t have to go here anymore!
