It's a Safeway. As far as Safeway in town go this isn't the nicest newest location. However it's probably the least sketchy after dark, the employees are generally friendly, and the lines are never too long. Also they still have self checkout. I've noticed a lot of places have been getting rid of self checkout and the result is always super long lines. I quit going to WinCo altogether because of it. My only complaint is there is an employee who kept stalking me as I shopped. It happened 4 or 5 times in a month. I guess he thought I was going to shoplift but come on. I don't even understand I dress well, I'm not homeless and I sure as hell don't appear to be. I wear a 3000$ watch. It made me super uncomfortable to the point that the last time I was afraid to leave the store because it was late and I was afraid the guy was going to follow me to my house and start something. I had to ask an employee to please make sure he didn't follow me because he was being that creepy. He's got like 200 pounds on me. Ever since then he seems to make a point to stay far from me when I come in the store so it's all good now. Sucks one employee is going to ruin what otherwise would be a five star Safeway but scarring she out of customers is just a really bad look. Your supposed to make regular customers feel welcome.

They now have predatory digital price tags. For those that don’t know- stores can now change pricing based on your spending patterns, surge pricing at busy times of the day and in general squeeze every cent out of you based on your digital footprint.

I was there around 8pm on August 1st and there were about 30 people in line, 3 self check outs open, 1 regular cashier, and riots were about to start. and a security guard is just standing there. hire some cashiers. what a joke. store has been turning into a slum lately, it takes a lot to get me to change grocery stores but you've lost my business

The Safeway has been a problem in the two years I have lived near it. Folks are frequently stealing from it and it’s unfortunately always understaffed. I want to call out that The staff that does work there are lovely. Good people. I don’t understand why management won’t invest in more staff. I hope that some of these new safety and antitheft precautions will change the overall vibe there.
