My wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice date night dinner and headed to PCG. We showed up 15 minutes before our reservation and tge hostess was nice and asked if we would like to seat at the bar for a bit until a window table opens up. We said "yes" and headed to the bar. My wife had a diet coke and i had a hibiscus lychee sour. Which had no hibiscus in it and tasted like Mr Ts sour mix and soda. It was a short wait before out table was ready.
The view was gorgeous, which is why people come here. So no complaints on that. They service on the other hand was slow. Took us 15 minutes before the waitress came to ask us if we were ready. We got the calamari like we normally do. However this time it wasnt the same. It wasnt saucey like it has been before in the past and you count taste the difference between the fried squid, beans, or onions. So disappointing.
My wife ordered the the seafood trio and I got the chilean sea bass. Her food came out lukewarm and the salmon unseasoned. My Seavm bass was still raw and slimy in the center. The waitress never can to ask us how our food was and I finally had to flag her down to refill our cokes. It was the 3rd time we've been there in a couple years and each experience it keeps getting worse. I always have high hopes for a good date night there but always walk away disappointed and a couple hundred less in my pocket. Sorry, not sorry Portland City Grill. We wont be back.
My husband and I dined here and had the worst food and service we have ever experienced at a restaurant. Our waitress took over 15 minutes to greet us. At that point she took our order and we didn't see her again until the end of our meal. The appetizer came out so overcooked it was inedible. This should have been noticed by the staff who picked up, but they literally took it and left before we could say a word. The food came out cold and raw. We waited almost 10 minutes to eat and then forced down what we could because our waitress didn't once check on us. She brought the check after we flagged her down. Didn't ask how anything was and was gone before we could speak. We left without speaking to anyone because there was not a single person around to talk to. This truly was the most horrendous food and service we have ever had. Would highly recommend not coming here.

Let's begin with the positive things... I went here today for Mother's Day. The view was good and the Bloody Mary was great as well. The waiter was courteous and was helpful.
Here are my points of contention. I ordered the Seafood trio and received a raw crab cake. I explained it to the waiter and he could see that it was raw. He sent it back and within less than 2 minutes another plate arrived. I knew before the food had landed at our table the replacement crab cake was raw again. There was no way it had been cooked that quickly. When the plate arrived a manager came by shortly thereafter and I courteously explained to him that this was the second time I had received raw food. The manager seemed to be understanding that this situation wasn't acceptable, especially for this type restaurant let alone anywhere. The waiter came back and cleared the plate. I asked to substitute the crab cake for another piece of salmon and my request was granted. I received an extremely small piece of fish.
In all fairness the food besides the crab cake was cooked well. My gripe is for a brunch that costs $200+ I would expect a little more. Being served raw food twice is completely unacceptable. All in all I would go back but I don't think the food is worth that price. I have had far better food for much cheaper. The next time I want to spend that much on a meal I will gladly make the long drive to Salty's or go to Ox, which are the best 2 restaurants in the Portland area in my opinion. I'm sure there are other great places in my vicinity however, at this time Portland City Grill is not definitely among them.

My kids (6&9) are obsessed with Big Pink, and I was so excited to bring them. Three adults, two kids, celebrating our accomplishments. Oysters were poorly shucked (no liquid left), cocktails too sweet, and the bok choy still had sand it in. I had salmon, shrimp, and crab; I left most of the dish behind. The kids only ate half of their kids menu (burger and grilled cheese). The server upsold my kids mocktails (which is actually illegal). My dry gin martini with a lemon twist came out with olive brine. Three of our drinks came out wrong but only sent one back. I would not recommend. Go elsewhere if you want a view with food and drinks that are more than palatable. Service was friendly but not knowledgeable. Spent $400 on three adults and two kids menus. When I expressed disappointment in the food to the other adults, they said- what did you expect? It’s never been good. Ps. Validation doesn’t cover your meal. So expect to pay out for that too.

Portland City Grill has changed a lot, and sadly not for the better. We were especially disappointed that they were out of the Tomahawk bone-in ribeye, which was one of the main reasons we chose to dine there. In hindsight, we should have gone somewhere else.
The steaks we did order were tough, overly thick, and nowhere near the quality this restaurant used to be known for. It feels like now you are simply paying for the view rather than the food itself. While the skyline is still beautiful, the dining experience no longer matches the price.
We spent over $300, and even validation did not cover the amount of time we were there. Service was also extremely slow, apparently because a new waiter was being trained. What was most upsetting was when my dad fell and I needed the check quickly. The waitress showed no urgency and even stopped at other tables first, which was frustrating and disappointing in that moment.
I’m giving it two stars because the view remains stunning. Unfortunately, Portland City Grill is not the restaurant it once was. The food quality has gone downhill, and it will no longer be my go-to place for celebrations.
