Blew our expectations out of the water completely! I highly recommend the glenwood north, DONT go by the opening day reviews as it’s absolutely phenomenal food. My partner and I spoke about it and we agree that this is the best we’ve had. I’ve never had a waffle be so delicious, the batter is sweet yet they actually make them crispy..just wow! Home fries are crazy good. The service was so nice and homie. I’m usually not a breakfast person but that’s my partners favorite so we’ve tried nearly everywhere in the Eugene/springfield/ jc/ veneta area and I’m telling you this place is THE BEST!
First time was good. Food was great even though we had to wait about an hour. Everytime ive gone back since it gets worse and worse. On top of the long wait times the food is very inconsistent and literally different everytime. I was so excited when I first when there and told everyone about it. Now its just disappointing.
Edit: changed my review to 1 star because the kitchen staff is terrible. The worst timing ive ever seen. Food comes out cold and inconsistent everytime.

First time coming here and Edson really made our experience great. Being African American, it honestly made my day seeing another fellow brotha working in the back and serving us.
What really stood out was how nice and thoughtful he was. I asked if they had milkshakes and he said they didn’t, but then he came back and said he would see what he could do. That little gesture really made me and my team feel welcomed and special.
I also just found out Edson actually owns the restaurant, which is pretty cool. You can really tell he cares about his customers. Great dude and great experience, we’ll definitely be back!

The ambiance is pretty much the same inside as when it was The Viking! Same decorations even. The lighting was ok. The service was great though. We ordered and my friend made a special order and they accepted it. The menu is small. Just a front and back. They didn’t even have Chicken Fried Steak. We were surprised. My friend wanted it. It wasn’t super busy, there was no line when we got there, it wasn’t too busy, but our food took a good 20 minutes or better. I ordered a scramble and it was nothing to rave about. You don’t have the option to order hash browns. They just don’t have them, only their potatoes. They close at 2:00 so if you want to go, you better go at least by 1:00. I honestly can’t say I’d recommend them or not! I don’t see myself going back.
Formerly the Viking, this is a fantastic upgrade! Mainly breakfast and lunch, this town has needed to up it's game when it comes to good dining. First off, the service was perfect! Very attentive, lots of refills for water and coffee. And the coffee! This is the best cup of coffee I have had in years. If you like strong flavorful coffee this is the place. Another bonus is that when you order breakfast you get two side orders, so I had bacon (perfectly cooked) and yummy (not soggy) French Toast with my omelette. Portions are good and not overwhelming and perfectly presented. This is a very clean but modern improvement on what was here before, with plenty of seating and easy parking. Folks from Eugene should make the 15 minute trip north to experience Glenwood North, which beats any Eugene Springfield breakfast restaurants.
