  Here’s what happened; I was hungry, trying to prevent Hangry, when I saw The Laughing Clam. Like a beacon in the night, like a lighthouse promising safe harbor, I entered this shelter that promises libations for the weary. I knew that with a name like “The Laughing Clam” their chowder had to speak with its chest and deliver and boy did it! I even snagged some sourdough for delicious dippins! I happened to be seated near the kitchen and got to enjoy some awesome music leaking through the tiny speaker they’re allowed. Underground Hip Hop never dies! Music aside, these young men in the kitchen are doing AMAZING things and DEFINITELY shouldn’t be reported/deported for anything. . . EXCEPT FLAVOR!! Honestly delicious. Service, food, presentation, atmosphere . . . you’re gonna find something delicious.

  Melinda has been my go to server for years! She always has a smile on her face, remembers my drink order, and makes my experience amazing. I look forward to going to the clam for Melinda’s top-tier customer service!

  Terrible attitude from wait staff. No one welcomed us in, and then when we went to grab a seat they told us there’s a wait list with a pretty standoffish attitude. Ok if there’s no one to greet you when you come in or a sign saying please wait to be seated, how is anyone supposed to know? The waitress then said “well there’s only 3 of us working” with a snotty attitude. This place has gone down hill over the last few years. Last chance I’m ever giving them?

  Great food in a historical building. Today we had the Prawns and Soup, Salad and Ale bread combination. Everything was delicious and filling! Their clam chowder is hearty but not floury tasting like so many others I've tried. There is inside seating at tables or the bar and today the weather was nice so we sat outside and people watched while enjoying our meal. I recommend this classic Grants Pass spot!

  It was busy today, so we waited 10-15 minutes for a table which was fine. We're then watched a staff member shotgun a beer and then was incredibly rude. We walked out. The man with the annoying voice with short blonde hair should have a talking to. He lost your restaurant business. Don't yell at customers.
