Coastal Slice advertises “NY‑style pizza,” but that claim feels pretty exaggerated once you actually take a bite. We sampled the tsunami and combo slices, and right away were warned that their slices start as a plain cheese pizza that gets double‑cooked with toppings added afterward. That warning turned out to be accurate — and not in a good way.
By the time it reaches the customer, the sauce is dried out, the cheese is malleable and over‑baked, and the crust is tough and crusty rather than crisp. Toppings were barely there, nowhere near what you’d expect from a place claiming NY‑style anything.
We also ordered a Hawaiian pizza, hoping a full pie would be fresher. Unfortunately, it was made the exact same way: precooked base, canned pineapple, and Canadian bacon tossed on top. For the price, we expected a standard, freshly prepared pie — not a reheated cheese pizza dressed up after the fact.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Save your time and money; this spot isn’t delivering what it promises.
